Rain, Rain, Go Away…

I have a feeling that the complete downpour of rain is going to really cut into the number of trick-or-treaters that we are going to get at our door.

This is probably a good thing, since I have a Biology test tomorrow and I want to see all the kids in their costumes.

Rain, Rain, Go Away…

I have errands I wanted to run today, and things to do outside. Instead, it is POURING down rain. I can’t even see the street from the study window. Every time lightening strikes, I jump. The thunder is just a little bit too loud, just a little too close.

I’m turning the bright box off for now and returning to bed with a good book. I have things to do, but there really is no point in zapping the computer. Yes, I have a surge protector – and I don’t trust it right now.

Hey girl – When you get the chance, check your e-mail. I just don’t want to keep my friend waiting for a response. Let me know if you’re available or not so I can tell her if she needs to find someone else. Thanks.

Rain, Rain, Go AWAY!!!

It has rained EVERY SINGLE DAY since we returned from our honeymoon. Daily since June 11th, and I think there were even 3-4 days of rain before that. Sure, sometimes there are moments of sunshine, like the day of Jason’s swim team divisionals. Fortunately, it waited until about 5:30 to rain that day. Other days, it just doesn’t let up.

Our back yard is turning in to a marsh. The mosquitos are getting thick. The mud sucks on your shoes as you try to walk across the grass. It’s just gross.

The forecast for the next 10 days? Scattered Thunderstorms for 7 of them. Partly cloudy for the other 3, including the 4th of July. Gah!

The only thing that gives me some peace of mind is knowing that we are going to Minnesota for a family reunion in just over a week, and Fiery Wench pointed out that it was in the 70s today there.

Then again, there was a day that it was hotter in Paris then it was in Houston while we were on our honeymoon. With my luck, that will happen when we go to Minnesota too. The forecast for July 7th is a high of 82 with isolated thunderstorms. Of course.

Please. I can’t take any more rain. Someone, make it stop!

Girl it has sucked most of this month. If it wasn’t rainging it was cold and if it wasn’t cold it was raining. Bah!!

I was so excited to finally have a nice day that I just couldn’t bring myself to stay indoors and not enjoy it.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you so maybe it wont rain and it will be nice out for your reunion.

You’re telling me, its been the same way up here near DFW as well. One day this month that there wasn’t a drop of rain coming from the sky according to the National Weather Service. I’m leaving for FL in two days, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the rain follows us there!

Rain, Rain, Go Away…

First I should start with what I’m grateful for – I am glad that it is cooler outside now here in Houston. Our high today should be 78, with a low of 66. However, I am tired of the rain. It’s rained almost non-stop since Sunday. Gray and overcast. We did see a hint of sunshine yesterday, and I could see the moon when I was out last night, but this morning it was nothing but gray again. The allergies are starting to kick in to high gear now too, thanks to the rain.

Of course the gray weather just makes you want to curl up and sleep in late, and that’s exactly what I did this morning. Not intentionally though – and that’s when it sucks. Sure the extra sleep feels good, but the jolt you get when you wake up and realize you’ve overslept … blech. I hate that feeling. I set my alarm last night before I went to bed – but didn’t turn it on. Fortunately I woke up on my own, only about 15 minutes late – so it all turned out ok in the end.

So while I’m having a great week, and life is generally fantastic – I’m so tired of the rain. I need my sunshine! Anyone know an anti-rain dance I can try?

anti-rain dance, yes:

1. go to kitchen.
2. locate bottle of tequila.
3. pour in blender.
4. add lime mix, throw in ice.
5. blend.
6. pour in wide-mouthed glass.
7. place salt or sugar around rim.
8. turn on Jimmy Buffett’s “Fruitcakes” album.
9. dance and drink.
10. eventually pass out.

i guarantee the rain will disappear. 🙂

I too hate it when I set my alarm, but fail to turn it on. I don’t know of an anti-rain dance, but there is a saying up here in Oklahoma that if you just wait an moment the weather will change. It’s raining here in Tulsa too.

My recipe for homemade hot cocoa and fresh whipped cream … works everytime. In fact, not only is it anti-rain, it’s anti-snow and anti-cold. I don’t give the recipe to just anybody though …

When you can snatch the pebble from my hand … you will be ready.

Sounds like our Wednesdays were frighteningly similar, except it was about 20 degrees colder here 😉 I like Bran’s anti-rain dance – let’s all meet up in the social hall at the Church of Bran!

Hrm, the anti-rain dance I heard about involved doing the worm (where you wriggle on the ground like a worm) in front of large crowds of people while shouting lines from Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales at the top of your lungs. Or maybe that was the “Get declared legally insane” dance … well, it can’t hurt to try 😉

I know what you mean about the rain. My usual rain talisman isn’t working. My rain talisman is my umbrella. I noticed that it never rains when I carry it on my person. I never get to say “Good thing I brought my umbrella!” So I bring along my umbrella whenever I don’t want it to rain and it usually works.

But not this week. 🙁

I love the rain. Anyone who has the time to make a website about hating rain is a pathetic excuse for a person…One tip…Get some sort of life!!!Well I suppose that having the time to write all this is kinda sad to but SHIT!!! BRING IT ON…MORE MORE I LOVE IT…U r the ball lickers we will make u eat our shit then shit ur shit then make u eat ur shit that is mad up of our shit thats made of meat!!!! I AM THE CLIT COMMANDER!!!!! I WORK THAT SHIT…
