Random Ramblings on Noteworthy Things…

Just a few long list of things that I wanted to point out:

:: Two glasses of water and two Excedrin, and I’m feeling perfectly fabulous this morning. Jose Cuervo is still a friend of mine.

:: To the uber-creepy guy at Sambuca last night: when Jen tells you she isn’t interested, she means it. Don’t follow us out of the club (walking a block behind us) and then get in your car and try to find us in downtown. As if you weren’t creepy enough, you hit the ultimate freak factor.

:: Not only do I need to post photos from last night, I still need to post photos from two weeks ago when Mike, Matt and I met up with Leia, Julie, Jason and Amanda Who Does Not Blog. I can’t decide if I should share the secret of the Big Red Button – one of the best things to do in Downtown Houston. Maybe I’ll share the details but not disclose the location.

:: I also have to post the photos from the last H-Town Blogs gathering that I went to, hosted by Kathy at Tropica. Oops.

:: I have a lot of photos to post.

:: My Cookie Crumbs section is only on the default skin right now and the gray version of the default skin. I may add it to the others this weekend. I am also working on a minimalist skin with no sidebar. I don’t know when that will launch though.

:: Speaking of launches, I’m anxiously waiting for the Blogshares launch today. Soon, I hope.

:: Speaking of site redesigns, I’ve considered ditching my blogroll all together and just linking to the last 13 (Baker’s Dozen) people that have left comments. However, I can’t figure out how to keep duplicates off the list – if someone comments two times in a row, I only want the name to show up once. Also, if there is no URL filled in on the comment, I don’t want the name to show up at all.

:: I keep having reservations about making the change though. Maybe I’ll just stick to the blogroll, which still needs some more feng shui.

:: Dive Into Mark’s site still crashes my browser and locks up my computer. IE 6, Win98 (it’s work, I don’t have a choice). Not on the main page, but on every subpage of the site. Brenna’s site now has the same effect, and I don’t know why. Meanwhile, my site locks up Erika’s work computer with IE and Win95 (and I thought I had it bad with Win98). I have no clue why. Anyone have any ideas?

:: It took me weeks to figure out that Robert’s site, Truck808 should be read as “Truck Bob”. It probably didn’t help that I’ve never called him Bob, but it wasn’t until he mentioned Truck5on_02 (son #2) that I figured it out. Obviously, I’m not as l33t as I once thought. SuXor. However, I’m still all about the Swirl.

:: Tales for the L33t is still so hysterical that it makes me laugh to the point of tears. Romeo & Juliet doesn’t get any better than this. Watch it now – I’ll be here when you come back.

:: Jen is real. I know, and I’m here to testify. She’ll tell you that I am real too. What you see is what you get.

:: Fortunately, I think almost every blogger I’ve met in person to date is pretty real. I know that’s not true of all of them though – but I’ve been pretty lucky.

I have tons of pictures to post as well, including one or two great shots I got at SXSW and Tropica. I am such a slacker. I can’t wait to see your’s. By the way, are you going to have a pictorial about the troll? or was it elves? I bet you have some great shots of that little fellow.

I kept thinking “troll? the creepy guy at the bar?” Then I realized – the gnome! I will have to work on their pictorial soon. I took them to the museum last week, but they were too shy to come out of the bag to play. I’ll have to ask them to come out more often… 😉

(Everyone else is probably wondering what on earth I’m talking about…)

I tried to get a list of recent comentators (like you’re talking about) a while back by modifing the Most Comments by Person script put out by SG (calling it to group by author and order by comment_id or comment_created_on) but while It functioned the out-put wasn’t correct. I’d be most interested if you found a way that worked.

My pages do that to you? 🙁 I’m sorry! They’re even valid, well they were at one point haha. Well hmm hopefully I’ll get the rest switched over soon (the front page has a totally different layout), I don’t know what would be causing it!
