So This is How it Works…

It’s 3:15 in the afternoon. I’m going to go take a shower now so I can head out and run errands. Yes, I’ve been up since 8am, but I had other things to do – mainly housework things. And what’s the point in taking a shower if you’re just going to clean? It’s cold outside, and since I don’t have the heat on it’s cold in here. My toes are freezing. Maybe I should turn the heat on before I take that shower. I need to run errands and I have nothing to wear – don’t you hate it when that happens? Ugh. By the way, there isn’t a lot to watch on daytime television, but I love Christopher Lowell. And HGTV … oh, I could watch it for hours! A&E is good too. Too bad money doesn’t grow on trees, days like today are good for the soul if you’re not busy worrying about finding a job. However, I’m going to work on making some soap later today – then I have to figure out how to list my gift sets on eBay. Anyone need some adorable snowflake soaps or some lotion for Christmas gifts? Great for teachers and for friends! Custom made, just for you – what more could you ask for?

I don’t think I’ve ever babbled so many random thoughts all at once in the same paragraph. Time to go and get clean and pretty.

oh, snowflake soaps? That sounds adorable… I bet I could find some people to give snowflake soaps too 🙂 Do you need some actual snowflakes? I’m an expert snowflake cutter-outter 😉 Tee hee 🙂

Let me know when you put your stuff up. I’m in the midst of Christmas shopping, and soap and lotion is pretty safe stuff for new in-laws, I think. 😉

I still don’t know what this HGTV thing is that everyone is talking about. My mom watches it too. (She doesn’t like that Chris Lowell guy either Kathy. ::giggle:: )

GeekGrrl, HGTV is a designer’s mecca. if you’re stuck in a designing rut, that channel is THE place to go. homes and gardens. it’s here which you can get on cable. if you want to start watching it, watch on Thursdays… where you get Designers Challenge (3 designers wow you to pick them to redo a room), Designing for the Sexes (where Michael Paine consults you and your other-half about how to redo a room), House Hunters (where you follow someone around shopping for a place to call home whether it be a condo, used home, or new home). i also love watching Before and After, which is a show about a complete home makeover.

You don’t find Michael Paine horribly annoying? I watch Designing for the Sexes, but … he bugs me. I like Christopher Lowell because he shows cool things that I can actually make and use. Some of them are a bit out there, but most of them are pretty cool!

I love Saturday nights on HGTV – Designres Challenge, Designing for the Sexes, Room by Room, and a bunch of other shows! 7pm – 10pm, I can watch them all!

Room by room is one of my favorites, but I always forget to watch it. Of course, I’m addicted to TLC shows, so I end up watching Trading Spaces and Makeover Story (which is on while I eat lunch) every day 🙂

Michael Paine’s mannerisms are very robotic… like whenever he sees the woman/wife, he always kisses her on the cheek (he kisses a lot of women that way!) and laughs this stiffled laugh when he sees the finished product.

one thing that bugs me is his accent. you can not tell where it’s coming from or what he’s going to use next.

other than that, i love watching his show because of his taste in furniture and esquisite design and creativity. and that he’s able to satisfy the likes of both people.

(okay, so yeah, he’s annoying, too.)

TLC and discovery are the bomb. Junkyard Wars, Monster Garage and Full Metal Challenge are just the right prescription for a no-talent-@$$-clown like myself who has no mechanical skills whatsoever.

Hello, I watch HGTV alot and Other designing shows…I find them very amusing since i am an extremely crafty person. Anyways Michael Pain and Christopher Lowell- well they are both great with their ideas..They also would make an adorable couple. Michael Paine definitely knows how to design for the sexes. His sexy acent turns me on. And Christopher Lowell ahah (his laugh) I find him to have a very exotic taste in design.

Michael Paine is brilliant. Not simply in his choices for the interiors, but rather in the deft way he manages his clients. The “robotic” kiss on the cheek and stiffled laugh seem to charm his audience far more than many designers on hgtv, and he remains tightly in control, without ever resorting to argument. He is a model of professionalism, yet approachable and charming. I can only lament that he’s been replaced, at least for the time being, by a decidedly less endearing host augmented by anonymous (in comparison) designers.
