Someday You’ll Find It…

Thanks to Dick, I discovered that today is the 25th Anniversary of the first “Muppet Show”. Wow – what a flood of memories that brings back. I have always loved the Muppets. Then again, I was truly a “Sesame Street” kid, since that show first aired the year I was born.

I remember when the Muppets came on the air. My Dad & I used to watch it together every week, and when the first “Muppet Movie” came out in the theaters, he took me and my best friend to go see it. (He also took us to see “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band” with the Bee Gees, but that’s a story for another day.)

I still know all of the words to “The Rainbow Connection” and probably every other song in the movie too. When my parents finally got a stereo for our home, they gave me a “Muppet Movie” soundtrack album. I was so puzzled – we didn’t have a record player… until they went out to the garage and got it out of the trunk of the car! Countless hours were spent listening to that album. Now, thanks to ed k., I have a copy of the movie on DVD too – and I must watch it soon!

Happy Anniversary, Muppets! Thanks for the years of laughter and fun!

That is one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s in my Winamp queue right now. And I just got Muppets Take Manhattan on DVD last night. w00t! 😉

Hi Christine, I just visited your web site and noticed that you were looking for a crocheted pattern for Miss Piggy. I have one that came from a lady in Texas that used to sell patterns. (I wish I could find her.) Miss Piggy is about 18″ tall and has yellow thread for hair. I also have Oscar the Grouch and Bert and Ernie and Cookie Monster. They’re all about 18″ tall. I lost the picture that goes with Miss Piggy. If you want any of these patterns I will be glad to send them to you. In the mean time have you ever heard of Carole Anderson? She is the one I got these patterns from and I’d love to find her.
Thanks,
Jo Ann Yokeley

If anyone would be willing to share the sesame street and muppets (miss piggy, kermit, any others) with me I’d really appreciate it. I’d be happy to pay any costs associated with copying or mailing them. My great grandmother made me these when I was very small – crocheting is how I’ve connected with her memory so these would be very special to me.

Thank you a million times over 🙂

I would also like to have copies of the Sesame Street and Muppet characters to crochet. My niece is having a baby and Oscar was her favorite character when she was a kid. I’d love to be able to crochet Oscar for her baby.

Thanks.

I have crochet patterns for Big Bird and Bert. I would love one for Grover. I have just learned to crochet. I was inspired to learn when I was given a pattern for Bert. To my delight and surpride, inside the box was a pattern for Big Bird too!!!! I am willing to share patterns if anyone wants a copy of the two patterns I have.
Thank you
