Phones are jammed in New York right now, and probably all along the Eastern seaboard. I can’t call my friends on their cell phones. I was just wrapping up reading the posts at Saranwarp, all of which leave me stunned in a surreal sense. It is amazing though that they can still get e-mail, and people in Manhattan are on IM right now. As she put so well… “kind of strange that the internet, initially a military endeavor in case something like this happened, is now proving itself.” Wow.

From what I’ve heard, you won’t be able to reach alot of people in NYC on cell phones for a few days. The major communications for the area’s cell phones were located on top of one of the buildings.
