They’re Twins?!

Kymberlie and I were just discussing Mikey’s post about the “Attack of the Clones” and … I have a confession. See, I knew that Anakin was Darth Vader, and that he was Luke’s father. (“Luke, I am your faaaaather…”) But you see, I had no clue that Princess Leia was his twin sister. Dude! How did I live all these years without knowing that? I had no clue! That explains why my life has felt so incomplete.

Seriously, I haven’t watched the first three movies (now numbered 4 through 6) since they came out in the theater, and I only saw them then because I was a kid and taken there with my friends. I never saw Episode I. I saw Episode II, but I couldn’t keep half the characters straight. I enjoyed it, but didn’t know really what was going on.

But I had no idea that Luke & Princess Leia were twins. I can’t believe it. Really, you can laugh at me – I’m ok with it. I still just don’t believe I had no idea. Did you know? Was I the last person to find out the truth?

it’s ok. you are forgiven…lol yes, in #6 luke tells leia that they are bro and sis and she nods and says she knew. anakin and amidal are their parents. you are complete now =)

No, you weren’t the last one. I didn’t know until I just read it. My husband is a HUGE Star Wars fan, and we have the original trilogy, but I have never sat down and watched them. I didn’t see them in the theatre either. I know, I know. I’m horrible.

Well it’s even alluded to before you know for sure. I mean Vader and the Dark Lord talk about there being “another one” when Vader says he will kill Luke if he doesn’t turn (in Empire Strikes Back, the best of them all.)

Since Episode I I’ve been wondering what happens to Amidala that she gives up her children. And how could Vader not see the resemblance between Leia and her.

Citizen Kane is the movie Mikey was suggesting you watch. You’ve probably missed lots of pop culture references if you didn’t know about rosebud. It’s even been in the Simpsons.

There’s a scene in the movie “Undercover Brother” we need to do to you. He’s given 20 years of pop culture in the span of 2 minutes by being hooked up to a machine… 😉
