When knitting a lace wrap for a wedding, don’t try to be all cool and knit without your glasses on. You will end up with needles to your nose, trying to do every single k2tog (knit two together), and before you know it your shoulder will hurt and your hand will go numb. Not a good idea at all.
Lace. I’m knitting lace. With very fine, gorgeous ivory Cherry Tree Hill Merino Lace wool (from Twisted Yarns) and a size 4 needle. It is going to be soooooo yummy. I love it!

ohhh numb-ness is not good! Be careful woman.
Did I mention how excited I am? did I, did I? ayiyiyiyiyiy!! It’s going to be gorgeous! 😀
I set it down and shook it off. I’m all good now. 🙂 (But I want to go pick it back up. I don’t want to focus on work. I want to knit pretty lace! It is more fun!)
I don’t knit, I crochet… but I have this habit of washing my hands like every fifteen minutes while I’m working on a blanket. If I don’t, my hands get sweaty!
don’t hold out on us! what pattern are you using?
Oops! Sorry about that – we are using this pattern, but I charted it to have more repeats. Basically, I cast on 99 stitches instead of the 43 they call for. From there, you work the pattern the same.
After I talk with the ladies at the yarn shop today, I may take it down to 85 stitches instead, removing one repeat. I want to make sure it doesn’t end up 40 inches wide when I block it!
That’s the loveliest yarn; I’ve got a hank of it, in the red. I’ve only done a bit of swatching with it, still deciding on the perfect pattern, but I’m really looking forward to getting to it.
