Wanted, Your Smiling Face…

laughter
You must admit, all good weddings include throw-back-the-head laughter during the middle of the ceremony.

This blog, over the years, has lead me to many great and wonderful things, good times, fabulous friends and ultimately, an amazing husband. (It has also caused a few headaches, but we won’t go there.) So when I have a need, why not turn here?

As I’ve spent more and more time thinking about it, I realize I have always wanted to be a photographer. Why bother denying the dream? Oh, wait, I already am a photographer. I even sell my photographic work. (FreshPhotography.org in case you didn’t know that already.)

Now I think I am ready to take it to the next level. This is the part where you can help.

Dancing LouI am looking for the following photographer opportunities in Houston, Texas or the nearby areas:
– Child photography
– Newborn photography
– Pet photography
– Wedding photography
– Senior photography
– Whatever sort of event, corporate, or any other form of photography you might possibly need

What do you (or your friends) get out of it? A free photographer (if you book the session by May, 2007, until I build up the portfolio). Prints will have to be paid for, and I can work out a price list for that. What do I get out of it? A chance to build up my portfolio. The only catch? You have to be willing to sign a document stating that I can post your photos online and use them in any print portfolio I might have. Of course, all identities will be hidden, and I can address any other concerns you might have.

I am also willing to travel to Austin or Dallas or any nearby area to do this work. Julia, I am looking at you with your first grandchild on the way! Leia, your wedding is already on my calendar!

So? What do you guys think? Any takers? Feel free to leave a comment here or send me an e-mail at christine at this domain.com.

(PS – No news on Murphy yet. Cleaning up the abcess is done, but we don’t pick him up from the vet until 6pm tonight.)

Why, oh why, don’t I live closer to Houston. I would love to offer my children, but since I only make it down that way about once a year, I’m afraid I can’t.

Good luck!

I would be willing to offer the services of my dog for photography purposes (we live in Austin), but she won’t sit still for anything.

If you’re still willing, I have no problem with it.

So, do you consider Galveston close? I’m going to be there the first weekend of April for The Grand Kid’s Festival. I’m a storyteller, and could sure use some new photos for my website. There would be opportunities for lots of other fun pics that day, too (mimes, street clowns, kids, kids, kids). In fact, I tried to e-mail you yesterday, but couldn’t get it to go through. My husband and I “oohed” and “aahed” over your pics.

P.S. I can also give you the name of the organizer of that event in Galveston. I don’t know if they have an “official photographer,” but I’ve never seen one in several years of working there. You might even see if they would pay you. From experience I can tell you that people appreciate things more if they pay a small stipend.

Sure, I’d be willing to be in the photos with Valentine.

Which days are you going to be in Austin? I’m heading out of town that weekend (March 16 – 19), but other than that, I’m fairly free.

Shelly, I totally consider Galveston close. It is the closest of all the locals that I listed. Unfortunately, I am doing the art market on Saturday – but I don’t think it is until the evening that month (it is during the days part of the year; at night the rest). I’m available all day on Sunday. I’ll send you an e-mail

Tina, I’ll actually be there the weekend before – March 9-14 or so. We can definitely work something out!

Hey, Christine. I’ll watch for your e-mail. If I don’t reply immediately, it’s because I have to travel to Tyler this weekend. I don’t think Camp Tyler will have wireless internet…bummer. I haven’t been “unplugged” in a long time!

We have 2 girls, 2 and 5, a dog and a bunny. They are all beautiful but, of course, I’m not biased or anything.

And we live in Houston. We’d be interested. Please e-mail me.

Well, NOW your going to be busy! Anybody who has seen your photos online is going to want you for their photographer. I am sure Kandis will be thrilled to offer up her newborn, if you still have time when he is born.

I’m in Houston and would love to help! Let’s see…I’m due with our first kiddo in July, so could help with pregnant lady pics for now and with newborn pics then. Let me know!

Would you be interested in meeting at some bluebonnets in a month or so? I now it is cliche, but I would love some great pics of my two kiddos and maybe even our two dogs in the bluebonnets.

i am always looking for a good photographer for the boys — I try to do it myself, and I’ve gotten some nice shots, but it’s always a hit-or-miss situation and then I’m never in any of them. I wouldn’t want you to have to make a special trip to DFW, but the next time you’re up here, or if you bundle a set of assignments together, I’m game!

I’ve got some willing subjects…my good-natured 4-month old granddaughter with or without mom and dad. Time and days are flexible. Indoor or outdoor settings OK. Bluebonnets might be a fun challenge. Let me know!

I’m willing to offer my kids for you to try photographing. I am sure you can do better than me. My son is 21 months and my daughter is 14 years old. Not sure which would be harder… uh, my daughter. Hope to hear from you soon.
