After reading Nicole’s post about the Emmy’s, I suddenly remembered something I thought yesterday. During Mass at Puff Up, the priest mentioned something about prayers for peace, and that they were “especially important in times of war like this.” I remember thinking that we weren’t at war yet. Imagine my surprise when my Mom called this afternoon and towards the end of our conversation she said, “you know that we have started bombing, don’t you?” The question came out of nowhere, and no … I had no idea. I hadn’t turned on the TV since we had arrived home, and we listened to CDs on the way home from Cub World.
My thoughts & prayers go out to everyone who has loved ones serving in the military and to the members of the military themselves. It brings back a flood of emotions that are still vivid after Desert Storm. My prayers go out especially to my ex-husband, Rick, his new wife and the baby they are expecting early next year. He is stationed at Ft. Bragg, and I am sure he has been deployed already or he will be very soon. Much love to all, and I hope everyone returns home safely…
