After the server moves and the dust has settled, I must remember to add Brash and Sassy to my list of reads. I keep forgetting to add her, even though I go there often!

When You Can’t Write…
Since I won’t be able to post tonight, I may as well head on over to Quicken.com Taxes and do my taxes since we got our W2’s yesterday at work. Oh, wait. Crud. I don’t have my other one yet for the first part of the year! Man… Unless it came in the mail today. I would be shocked and amazed though if they got them out before the January 31st deadline. Guess I’ll just have to work on a redesign after all…
Missing the Cirque…
Chelsey got tickets a couple of months ago to Cirque du Soleil for the “Dralion” show. She had purchased an extra child & adult ticket and wanted to know if I wanted to purchase them, and I said yes. But that was back before the school situation changed, and now I really need that money for other things – so I had to ask her on Friday to see if she could find someone else who wants them. I am bummed because it would have been a wonderful thing to go to – but they are for Thursday night at 9pm – and Jason has school on Friday. Considering he is still having the same homework issues, he can’t afford to miss a day of school because we went to Cirque de Soleil the night before. Ah, the joys of parenting…
Servers Moving…
Just like Robyn, since we are hosted together, my server will be moving tonight – literally. VeoWeb is going to be shut down starting at 6:00 p.m. EST tonight as they move servers. They expect the move to take “anywhere from 5 to 10 hours”. Yes, I have backed up everything. Twice. Since the boxes are literally moving to a new location, it should go pretty smooth – but better safe then sorry!
The BraBall…
I am really impressed with the concept of The BraBall. “The surprising size of the BraBall (now over half its goal, the height of the average American woman – five feet, four inches tall), the overwhelming quantity of bras, and the incredible density of the piece catches people off guard and hopefully challenges their assumptions about women’s bodies. Our bodies are solid and strong like the sculpture, not wispy and frail like the bras it’s made of.” If you have any bras with the metal hook & eye type of closure, why not donate them? I am going to add it to my list of things to clean out as I work on decluttering my house. It is important to read the “Herstory” page on the site and learn even more of the history of this project.
“Using bras as an art medium (something I’ve been doing for several years now) is a way of disrupting some of the longstanding taboos surrounding them. Interweaving stained nursing bras with provocative, augmentation bras somehow balances the distorted images of women’s bodies. It reconciles the narrow stereotypes of virgin and whore and fills in the true definitions of women that are missing in between. We’re old and young, tall and short, thin and plump, rich and poor, straight and gay, famous and anonymous, and every racial background imaginable. The BraBall includes artists’ bras, postal workers’ bras, lawyers’ bras, mothers’ bras, secretaries’ bras, students’ bras, and even exotic dancers’ bras. The bras, made of satin, silk, cotton, or nylon, run the full color spectrum and range of print designs: floral, polka dot, even cartoon characters or signs of the zodiac.”
