Micropoll seems like the perfect little mini-poll taker for a site. Totally cool. I will be testing it out soon! (via David Gagne)

Save That Show!
Don’t you just hate it when a network drops one of your favorite shows? Take “Inside Schwartz” for example. I *love* that show. It’s hysterical. It’s funny. It’s great – but lately it hasn’t been on. Which makes me worry that NBC might drop the show. But I did something about it – I gave my feedback over at SaveThatShow.com. I discovered it at the New York Times website, where their article says “The site lets fans vote on new programs they don’t want to see taken off the air — before the shows are even in trouble. The results of the voting are forwarded periodically to the networks, according to the site’s founder, Christopher Burrell. Fans can also fill out an online form to have a letter mailed to a specific network, with the site handling printing and postage.” (Link to NY Times via Robyn)
I Want my TechTV…
I remembered to check my channel 16 on Wednesday night. I needed to see if it was just a Municipal Access channel or if I actually get TechTV so I could watch Chris Pirillo. SuXor … it’s municipal access. No TechTV. I want TechTV. Please? *sigh* Oh well, I guess I don’t have that much power over TimeWarner in Houston. So I signed up for the rest of the LockerGnome newsletters that I wasn’t already receiving. Guess that will have to do for now.
Does this Train Go To…
We got back into Houston about 9:40 last night, and I got home about 10:15 or so … and I was TIRED. I’m still tired. And congested now – I need to take some Claritin. But our meeting went really well, we got a lot accomplished, and that was the whole point.
The funniest thing happened at the airport in Atlanta yesterday morning though. When you arrive you have to go downstairs and get on a train that takes you to the terminal with the car rental places. There is only one place to get on the train, and it is only going in one direction. It makes a big loop, so if you get on a A and need to go to D you have to go around the line to get there. So we get downstairs and are waiting for it to arrive so we can go to the main terminal. An old lady comes up & asks if that train goes to “Terminal T”. I said “I’m not sure if that’s the next stop … let me look.” I look on the wall and it says “Next Station Terminal T” so I tell her yes, it goes there. Then she says, “Does this train go to Salt Lake City?” I thought she was joking. I almost asked her “Oh, are you going to the Olympics?” Then she repeated her question and asked if that was the right terminal to go to to get on the plane for Salt Lake. Uh, I dunno. Don’t have the gates for Atlanta memorized. Just then the train arrives and the doors open. There were 4 or 5 pilots on the train, so she asked them … “Does this train go to Salt Lake City?”
She & her husband got on, got off at the next stop. The pilots told them to “just stay with us” and lead them off. Meanwhile we stayed on until we got to the next stop where the rental cars were located at. And the rest of the day we laughed about the train that goes to Salt Lake City…
The Tire Saga…
I almost forgot! I have to give huge props to Discount Tire. Last September I purchased two new tires for my car from them. This morning I went back there to buy a tire to replace the one that was destroyed during my pure evil ™ fit on Monday. The tire guy asked me as we walked to my car if I had bought the tires there. I said no, but that I had bought 2 out of the 4 there. He said that they would give me a partial credit then for the tire replacement. I thought the new tires were on the front – but they were on the back! So when we got to the car the guy realized that it was the tire I bought just months ago that was flat, so then we went to look if I had purchased the lifetime replacement warranty. I DID! So instead of costing me $100 or more today, it only cost me $10 to get a new tire put on. I can not even tell you how happy that made me. I highly recommend Discount Tires!
