Ryan wrote about this the other day, and I still think it’s hysterical: Geek Cruises. Yes, you and your geek love one or geek friends could go on a cruise and attend seminars and so forth at the same time. What a wonderful way to get your next certification! And with a name like “PERL Whirl”, how can you possibly resist? Maybe if I took the cruise I could finally meet the man of my dreams. But he must have a blog. Somehow, I just don’t trust blogless people these days. Yes, the man of my dreams will have nice eyes, a goatee, maybe even the shaved head look … and a blog. And the idea of the geek cruise would be appealing to him. What more could a girl ask for?

So, What is It?
Chelsey sent me an e-mail this morning. She is convinced that I know everything, and whatever I don’t know I can always find online. Normally, I prove that she is right, but this time I couldn’t do it. So now I am looking for help. This is what she wrote:
um, i’m trying to remember a poem, saying, bible verse, inspirational blurb, i’m not sure what… something about the most important thing in life is not the end goal, but the journey… (?) does this ring any bells with you?
I wrote her back and said “Are you sure it isn’t “Enjoy the Ride?” Oh, no, wait – that’s the Nissan or Mitsubishi commercial.” She wasn’t amused. She wants to know the full quote, the actual saying. “All of it, in it’s entirety.” Then she called me a dork. I guess that’s what I get for being a smartass. Anyways, now I need to find it. I said it was something like “It’s not the destination, but the journey.” She said there is more to it then that. Hmmm. Any idea?
Nothing on The Link…
What the Hell … ?
Working in web sales, I get strange requests for things all the time. Often people say “I want a site that does this…” and I get to do research just to figure out what they really want and to try to help guide them about what it is that they really need. On that note, I like it when articles such as A List Apart: What the Hell is XML? come out. I’m an information junkie, what can I say? (Link thanks to David)
Get OUT!!!
David Gagne, of davidgagne.net (amazing how that works, huh?), was on the new daily version of The Weakest Link! Get out! Isn’t that like cooler then cool? So, anyways … I am lucky. If it is airing today – well, we don’t get it during the daytime in Houston, we get it at night! So guess what I will be Tivo’ing? Yep, you got it! I will say, I will miss the annoying British host. I liked her.
Oh, why do we get the daytime shows at night? Well, I don’t know the full history behind it, but the local NBC affiliate here has some issue with Conan O’Brien. So we get that show at 1:30 in the morning or some time like that. Conan has even come to Houston in search of someone, anyone watching his show. One of the few episodes I have seen, thanks to the odd hour – it was pretty hysterical as they searched bus terminals, U of H campus, and so forth desperately looking for just one viewer. So “The Weakest Link” is on at 11:35pm. David, I will get it on Tivo I will send you a tape!
