What a Dumbass…

Some people think the rules don’t apply to them. “He saw the line at the checkpoint and his flight was leaving 10 minutes later, so he didn’t have time to wait in line. So he went back down the escalators he came from.” His story is that, “because he had already been through security, he didn’t see the harm going back down the escalator,” Brooks said. Uh, ok, DUMBASS. But it gets BETTER! “The man was told to go through the nearby main security checkpoint. He started to walk away, but spun around and sprinted past the two guards and ran down the up escalator.” Oooooh, smart move. And then his attorney calls the lawsuit filed against him “dastardly, exploitive, irresponsible and senseless.” even though up to 10,000 people were evacuated when the airport was closed. I love how his story changed and now he says that “he was concerned about his 6-year-old son, who was at a Northwest Airlines gate while Lasseter returned to the main terminal to search for his camera bag.” Again proving what an IDIOT the man is – why would you leave a 6 year old alone at the gate in the first place?

*ucking Dumbass. I am so glad that didn’t happen the day that I was at the airport in Atlanta!

Just a Rant…

You know, if you are setting up a meeting with two companies, don’t set them up for just 30 minutes each with no gap in the middle. Please. Yes, I had one of those today, and had to wait. The meeting went well, it was worth it – but … now I will be working late because I have a lot to do today and I was out of the office much longer than I expected.

So, be nice when you schedule your meetings with people. Sure, they are there as a service to you, but it could be effecting others that are using their services.

Yeah! I have a Key!

I, the queen of cheap, who loves freeware of all kinds, shelled out the moola for a donation to MT, and went for the $45 donation even, because MT has made my life that much easier. Hmmmm, maybe I will get the other blogs converted tonight…

More on MovableType

Fooljay from the MT support boards has tons of cool things on his site at Openwire – OPP Tool Talk. I just sent of my “I’ll beta test!” e-mail for the search feature. Even if no one else uses it, I use it to find things I have “bookmarked” here – I don’t use regular bookmarks in my browser, I write about it here and that way I can search for it easily. It is the one thing I have missed since I transitioned from Greymatter.

In case you have the “which is better for me, MT or GM?” question, here are some reasons I love MT:
– I can post to any of my MT blogs from one bookmarklet, making it easier to update on the fly.
– One MT interface for all blogs – so I can go to one central location to maintain this site, Worth Keeping and I am a Betty Crocker Wannabe.
– One MT interface means only one install of MT on my server, leaving more free space. (All of my domains are hosted in one giant account.)
– MT does not take FOREVER to rebuild when I make a change to my templates. Even if I rebuild all of them including my 700 individual entries, my weekly archives and my monthly archives.
– MT easily imported all of my GM entries.
– MT is still in development by the original creators. Not a group of people making hacks for it, but actual growing & changing software.
– I like the pretty interface. (It looks a lot like the MT website)
– I can easily “export” all of my entries so I can keep a back up. I do this about once a week, sometimes twice – just in case I lose the server or something.
– All the cool people use MT. (Ok, not really – but I had to see if you were paying attention!)
– Categories. I don’t use the for this site, but I am about to add them to the recipe site, and I think they would be handy for the “Worth Keeping” site too. I am going to post more entries first so I can see what categories I need to add.

Hmmm… I think that pretty much covers it. If you have any questions feel free to let me know. Hey Candi, no one has asked for my help yet – is that a sign?

Leap Years…

One of my favorite shows is on Showtime – Leap Years – Sundays at 10:45pm EST. It is the best show, the concept is pretty original, it’s funny – it’s dramatic – it leaves me craving more every week. Then Aaron from Hollow Streets sent me an e-mail this weekend and told me it has been cancelled. CANCELLED! That really bums me out. I was looking forward to many years of watching this show, how can they cancel it on me? Man…
