The Classic Quote…

Kymberlie has a great knack for giving us classic quotes. First there was “functionability” … that was before I started “torturizing” people. Yeah, we should be speech writers for Bush! But today’s comment was great… I went to get something I needed and she looked at me and said, “Oh yeah! I was going to remember but then I forgot.” Yes, indeedy … and that is why we keep her around. Free entertainment!

I am…

Do you know what your Hobbit Name is? I am Daisy Danderfluff. I am really not too sure what to think of that, but that’s what my Hobbit name is… My friends get *cool* names though – like Kymberlie, who is Tigerlily Broadbelt of Buckland. Or Naomi – Lily Proudfoot of Standelf. Me? Daisy Danderfluff. (Many thanks to Spitting Llamas for the fun!)

No WAY!!!

From The Indiana Jones School of Management: “I’ve seen a commercial for the, I kid you not, eBay play at home auction game.” THAT, my dear friends, is quite a scary thought!

Class, the Lesson for Today Is…

So, I tested out VeoWeb’s other server, supposedly stable while this one isn’t. But it is less powerful, so when I went to rebuild my entries in greymatter to fix path changes, guess what? Greymatter Forum : internal server error when rebuilding archives Yes, the lesson that Candi learned this summer – some servers only grant a certain number of CPU time before it kills the process. Some hosts can handle the larger blogs and the big rebuild. VeoWeb’s Host4, inspite of the other problems last week, can handle it. I rebuilt all of my files last week in order to add the winamp list from DoSomething.

Out of curiousity, Naomi, being the sweetheart she always is, set up a directory for me on her site at Aletia and allowed me to upload greymatter there so I could test it out. Rocking & rolling along, changing paths, just like before … and guess what? It couldn’t handle the rebuild either. It made it farther than I got this morning, but the exact same thing happened – it just stopped. Couldn’t handle it. Ugh. Yes, there are 480+ entries to index. Host4 at VeoWeb did it just last week. It can be done. Is your server up to the challenge? Yep, before I move I *will* test the server out. No doubt about it.
