Scariest Thing Possible

We’re watching “The Emperor’s New Groove” on ABC, the Sunday night movie. There was just a commerical on for the Olson twin’s new cartoon. Maybe it’s just me, but I think that’s pretty scary.

Almost as scary as the troll who keeps criticizing my site. Sigh. Oh well, so not worth the effort… if it’s who I suspect it is (based on his writing style over at the VeoWeb message boards) I would have to say that his site leaves a lot to be desired. But enough on that – have to agree with NerdBoyMikey (10.8.2001) – trolls aren’t worth the effort! By the way – if you don’t want to post your name & a way to reach you and then leave rude comments here … guess what? I edit them. None of us want to read that drivel if you can’t even admit who you are. Thanks for participating. Please feel free to play again.

Beverly Hills, 90210 Marathon

I Tivo’d every episode of Beverly Hills, 90210 on FX this week. I was in Germany when the show was first on the air, so I missed the first & second season. Now I get to catch up! First I got to see the one where Brandon dates the teenage mom – I am glad they showed that teen pregnancy happens. I had never seen the slumber party episode, and was amused at how easily they convinced Kelly’s friend Amanda to just give up the diet pills. You know Amanda, you have an eating disorder, but just let it go – *poof*! Now I am watching the one where Brandon is going to be on a TV show – and there is a lot of irony in the fact that he says, “it used to be one of those squeeky clean shows where, you know, by some miracle every problem was solved just in time for the last commercial.” Uhm, doesn’t that sum up 90210 itself! And in these early episodes David is a grade behind them (isn’t he?) and they consider him such a dork. Did that change when his friend Scott died? And Donna is always wearing skin tight outfits, while Brenda is wearing a sweater! Is that suposed to be the Minnesota vs California look? Does Brandon fall in love with every girl he meets? It’s so funny – every episode I have watched today he is in love with someone else!

I personally liked the show better when Brenda was still on it. Yeah, ok, I watched it through the end of it’s run, but it made a lot more sense when they were in school, Brenda was on it, and their parents were still there. It got even more hokey (if that was possible!) when the parents moved to China (yeah, ok?!?) and Brandon lived in the parent’s house.

Oh, Lookie at What I Found!

Thanks to Jennifer I found the VeoWeb Bulletin Board! Wheee! What fun! I love how there is info in there explaining why there have been problems – (sarcasm)I guess as a customer I should be expected to search the boards instead of simply getting a broadcast e-mail telling me they have upgraded servers, etc.(/sarcasm) I am still getting mystery e-mail from 2 days ago, just suddenly arriving now. But you know, it must have been a problem with the local ISP. (yep, across the country. Amazing it effects only VeoWeb clients…)

Saturday Night Live!

SNL’s skit about Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory had me rolling. I loved the part about Veruca Salt (played by Drew Barrymore) and how she now makes money by having men pay her $75 to say “I want it now, Daddy! Daddy! I want it now!”. The cartoon about the “retooling” by NBC of Emeral was a riot. Has anyone seen that show? It sucks! Emeral needs to stick with the Food Channel! Now the Weekend Update is on. Loving it! Britney Spear’s breast implants were made out of Cher’s nose! Hitler coming out of the closet, pink scarf and all, asking “Sprechen sie Dick?” The picture of Michael Jackson – he creeps me out – he doesn’t even look human! Now they are talking about the “politically correct war”, Operation Regrettable Inevitability! Whoo! Neal Diamond is singing “Heartlight” with Gay Hitler! Tina Fey & Jimmy Fallon (edited: not to be confused with Tammy Fey & Jimmy Fallens) were just cracking up in the background.

I always think that the “What would you do if someone passed you the keys to a Pontiac” commercial is a joke at first. Every time I see it. If someone passed me the keys, I would find someone to pass them on to! I will have to comment more on that over at AdLibitum.
