My apologies for the brief interruption today. I renewed the domain last night, and some sort of glitch in the system – a hiccup somewhere – caused it to be messed up briefly. So the site was still live, just no one other than me knew how to get here! Oops!

I am learning CSS this weekend if it kills me. Actually, I am just pulling things in to Dreamweaver and generating stylesheets off of there. Something like that. Heck, who knows. I thik Erika and I are going to have a margarita-drinking design blogathon on Sunday. You never know what you may find here on Monday morning!

In honor of my earlier post about the homepages a lot of us used to have and may still have a copy saved somewhere… I am hereby declaring the last week of September as RETRO WEEK!!! It’s the week of my birthday, so I picked that one. It’s also the same week as the Banned Book Project. Sort of fitting, considering it is a flashback to when information flowed a little more freely and those of us online thought that anything was possible on the internet. On September 23, 2001 everyone interested should change their blogs to have the look of their old personal home pages. Use the backgrounds, the flashing gifs, the spinning globes, the spunky e-mail icons, or whatever. I plan on using the clipart I had on my cute country homepage. I somehow managed to skip over the funky flashing pages, except for the special page dedicated to my mentor. I used the brightest and most annoying wallpaper I could find, and a bunch of animated bars. I have to give Jessy credit for making the comment that prompted me to make this post.

So, who is game? Anyone interested? It will be such fun! Then on the 30th of September or October 1st we can all be Freshly Made. (Have you signed up?) Post a comment if you want to join in. I will set up a specific page listing participants over the weekend. Spread the word! Let’s send the internet back in time!

My public apology for Kymberlie. Re-reading what I said the other day, I hope I didn’t come across as putting her down. I *heart* Kymberlie, I wouldn’t want to do that to her. We talked on the phone tonight, and I told her I didn’t mean for it to come across in any sort of negative way, I only meant to present my side of my feelings on Houston. Oops. Sorry Kymberlie. It must have been a functionability error. I didn’t mean to torturize you.

Earlier today I was trying to remember how to use ASCII code to make a degree symbol. You now, the little circle. Just now I was reading Leafbud (Quite a fun blog to read, you know?) and she has the codes posted. One problem. I don’t remember how to use them. Help! Is it Alt+number?

My head, throat & neck hurt. They have for days. I feel stiff and achy. After reading this guy’s site I am getting paranoid and wondering if my apartment is making me sick. I was home pretty much all weekend, 3 days in a row. Well, minus the hours for my shopping spree. Ack. I think it’s time to demand a new air filter be installed. Blah, I am tired of feeling like this.

After reading Whatever happened to the Humble Home Page? (link thanks to Flutter… Glub… Meow…) I am tempted to go home, dig out my old home page, and post it in a sub-directory here. I loved my personal home page. I had all sorts of cool stuff there. I stopped updating it sometime in early 1999, as my soap business started to take shape and I didn’t have time for a personal site too. It was such a cute home page. And it’s time for a revival. Coming soon… Christine’s Country Cottage will open again! (Yeah, we named our personal sites such cool hip names too.)
