There will now be a runoff for the Houston Mayor. It is my understanding (I could have it wrong…) that to win the seat in Houston you must have over 50% of the vote, and Mayor Lee Brown had 43% of the vote with Orlando Sanchez having 41% of the vote. (More on the results here at the Houston Chronicle’s site.) I heard on the news today that this is the first time in history that two minority candidates have had a run-off for Mayor, not just in Houston but in the nation (as far as major cities go.) Also on our ballot, same sex benefits for partners of city workers were voted down.

As for the biting issue – I just got back from the dentist. My first root canal. And I was scared, very scared … and it didn’t hurt at all. Not a BIT. Yeah! And he didn’t numb me so that I can’t feel half of my face or anything like that – my lip is a tiny bit numb right in the corner and I can feel a little numbness in my cheek on the left side. That’s it! I adore my dentist. He’s so wonderful! So if you were bad like me and have put off going to the dentist … go. Just do it. I procrastinated and ended up having to have periodontal treatment, which is going really well too. My pockets that were 4’s are now 2’s. So go to the dentist – your teeth will be so much better for it!

We’ll wake up tomorrow to a new mayor – maybe. Right now they are reporting “0% of returns” (how is that possible? hehe) and it is neck & neck between Mayor Lee Brown and Orlando Sanchez. I’ll be keeing an eye onHoustonChronicle.com to see what the results end up being. Also watching the “same sex benefits” ballot issue. Should be interesting…

Today has been a busy day & I am not about to stop yet. I have cranked out proposals for clients, and am about to add one more to my list. I am going to send e-mails to a few clients too. I don’t know where this huge energy burst has come from, but it feels good! So I am taking advantage of it! I stop long enough to make sure that Tivo is set to catch Frasier and Judging Amy. And I caught up on a few more blogs. While I was doing that, I came across Jen’s comments about her new TiVo, and it made me realize something. I have never heard a TiVo owner say anything bad about their TiVo. I have never heard someone say, “Oh, I thought I would like it, but you know … well, it’s ok but no big deal” or anything like “Yeah, we got one but I hated it and took it back to the store.” Nooooo… most TiVo owners will gush on and on about how wonderful TiVo is, how they LOVE having Season Passes set up to catch all of their favorite shows, how it’s so great not having to deal with the VCR any more, how cool it is that you can watch the beginning of a show while the end is still taping, pause live TV, rewind live TV … you get the picture. TiVo ROCKS!!! Not that many products out there inspire such loyalty as the TiVo…

My lovely friend Anne-Marie, who I met because she sold me goodies for my soap business, but who I adore because of who she is, sent me a box of birthday goodies!!! (Late due to their recent warehouse move, but that’s ok!) I *love* the Rise & Shine and the Summer Fling scents. (Descriptions found on her Fragrance Oils (O to Z) page.) Seriously, if you are ever going to dabble in making soaps, lotions, lip balms, bath bombs (or any other goodies like that) her supplies are the BEST, hands down. And she is soooooo helpful, as is all of her staff. I adore her. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone. And her “Relaxing” scent is one she had made just for me! It’s my best seller to this day along with being my personal favorite. I love it! Oh my, all these goodies, now I want to go home and play with them! I think my collection of her fragrances is nearly complete – I just might have them all!

In case you wondered why this site and the BDIB sites are separated … well, some of you could care less about my boring dating life. And just in case … later on down the road I let some guy see *this* site, I wanted that content somewhere else. Why am I talking about it now? Because I felt like it. Because I want to know that someone visits the site so I am encouraged to write more there. Or just because … it seemed like the right thing to do.
