Speaking of fresh finds … I’ve been keeping a secret. For a few weeks now actually. I’ve gone … on dates. *GASP!* Yes, me. Social life. It’s almost amazing – I had almost forgotten what it was like. However, I hate to jinx anything, and I had issues to sort through first before I felt like mentioning it. (Yes, I have emotional baggage. At least it’s cute and it matches!) However, that caused it’s own problems because for me – in order to sort through issues – I write about them. But I couldn’t, because he knows the site exists, and so instead – in the spirit of building a better relationship – I just discussed the issues with him. Amazing what a little communication can do, isn’t it?
So when I was talking with him earlier today, I realized it was time to introduce him to the rest of you – but I’m still keeping him a mystery. At least for now. (Hush. I know some of you are well aware of who he is, and that’s just between us, ok?) For the rest of you, he shall be known for the time being as “DateMan”. Man of mystery. Man of Intrigue. Man of … my lack of creativity in thinking of an ubercool nickname when composing an e-mail to Hoopty yesterday. So if you see him around, be nice – ok? We don’t want to scare him off just yet!
I just have to say thank you to Jason! Now you can set up your Blogroll to display a partial list and then offer a “show all” option – just like he does on the Blogrolling site for the contributors list. My fun plans for this Saturday night? I’ll be adding this and the Events script to the site. Right now I’m going to enjoy the rainy Saturday afternoon and read a good book.
It’s been a long day. Huge client proposal to write. A conference call with a different client. The techno gurus moved us all over to a new Exchange server for work mail. (Oh, that was a fun 2 hours of my day … moving e-mail, trying to understand how it was working while sleep deprived. What fun.)
I’m too tired to write creative things on my own. It’s just not happening right now. Maybe later after I go out with the “gaggle of people” (as Kathy has dubbed them) but not right now.
So here are some random thoughts on my web travels:
:: Jason has promised that he is going to FINALLY get the variable length blogrolls done tonight! I sure hope so – he’s promised them to me for a MONTH! The torture! I want a variable length blogroll! Hook me up!
:: Nicole is back! YEAH!!! I’ve missed Nicole bunches, and just the other day I was looking for her site – but it wasn’t online any more. What a treat to see it in my stats today!
:: Robyn and Todd met 10 years ago tomorrow. 7 years ago tomorrow he proposed to her. And the world hasn’t been the same ever since. Check out her touching tribute, which absolutely rocks if you ask me!
:: Jennifer and Sam close on their new house today & move in tomorrow!!! This is a good thing because now I can move to Boston, live in their basement (with it’s own private bath) and be Rachel’s nanny, plus they just had the best basement repair contractor working over there and I’m pretty sure the place is in a pretty good condition. I think Jennifer was trying to disuade me with that story about Rachel being bad at the mall yesterday. I’m not buying it … she is an absolute angel! I know better!
:: Speaking of couples, GeekGrrl and Milbertus are getting married! WHOO HOO! Congratulations you guys! (And a happy belated birthday to GeekGrrl!) I wish you nothing but the best!
