I Got My Baby Back… Baby Back… Baby Back…

I now have that damn song stuck in my head. Over and over and over … “I got my baby back … baby back … baby back …” Oh, sure – the commercial has the word want in there, but I *got* my baby back – I’m on the old laptop again and I’m loving it! Silly as it may sound, after using this laptop for over a year, I felt lost without it. Not only did I get it back, but it has all of my old files on it so I don’t have to reinstall everything! Photos will be on Picture Yourself and I can add more to Pixelog too! I looooove the Dell Latitude with Attitude!

So This is How it Works…

It’s 3:15 in the afternoon. I’m going to go take a shower now so I can head out and run errands. Yes, I’ve been up since 8am, but I had other things to do – mainly housework things. And what’s the point in taking a shower if you’re just going to clean? It’s cold outside, and since I don’t have the heat on it’s cold in here. My toes are freezing. Maybe I should turn the heat on before I take that shower. I need to run errands and I have nothing to wear – don’t you hate it when that happens? Ugh. By the way, there isn’t a lot to watch on daytime television, but I love Christopher Lowell. And HGTV … oh, I could watch it for hours! A&E is good too. Too bad money doesn’t grow on trees, days like today are good for the soul if you’re not busy worrying about finding a job. However, I’m going to work on making some soap later today – then I have to figure out how to list my gift sets on eBay. Anyone need some adorable snowflake soaps or some lotion for Christmas gifts? Great for teachers and for friends! Custom made, just for you – what more could you ask for?

I don’t think I’ve ever babbled so many random thoughts all at once in the same paragraph. Time to go and get clean and pretty.

Picturelicious!

Normally I approve photos for Picture Yourself daily, but when we hit the 500 mark and then with the events of last week – I’ve fallen behind. But I’m not temping today, and I’ve done all I can on the job hunt front for the moment, so I just went in and approved 30+ new photos for the project and there are more to come! I also needed to respond to an e-mail about the project and needed to find links to some of the best photos submitted to date – so I went through every entry from #500 back to #1. Wow. It was a blast to look through them all – it’s so wonderful to see the faces behind the internet!

I should have my e-mail restored by tonight, and then I can post the missing photos from #506 – #510 – the special photos submitted for the 500 mark that still remain. I can’t wait – they are some great shots!

I did it again this weekend. I was trying to take a picture of myself on the top of the Lexington in front of one of the planes, and someone came over quickly to offer to take my photo for me. I told her no, but this time I had a URL to give out to explain why I was taking a shot of myself! She thought it was so great that she stopped and wrote it down – hopefully we will see some photos of her soon!

Thank you again to everyone for all of your support – we’ll be hitting 1000 entries before we even know it. I am looking forward to seeing how all of you PictureYourself!

A New Twist on Harry Potter…

Laughing so hard it is making me cry. Can’t type. Must share. Naked Quidditch Match. Who ever knew Truth or Dare could be so binding? [via Mike]

I must dedicate this post to Bran and because of her love of Quidditch. Or rather the Quidditch captain. Either way, may it bring her happy dreams.

Honey, I’m Home!

We just got home from our trip to the Lexington down in Corpus Christi and we had a great time! It’s still amazing to me to think about all that the ship saw in it’s nearly 50 years of service. Yesterday afternoon they had a nice Pearl Harbor Day ceremony and honored the area veterans that were Pearl Harbor survivors. There was also a man there with our Cub Scout pack that served on the ship from 1964 – 1966, so that added a nice touch. They cut out some of the things they did in the program last time we went, and I think it seemed to be a little lacking without it, but it was still fun. On a really positive note, they had new mattresses from the Memory Foam Mattress Guides in the sleeping compartment we were in, so I wasn’t as sick as I was the last time coming home! I still couldn’t breathe this morning thanks to allergies, but after my daily dose of Claritin I was feeling a lot better.

I’m glad my Dad went with us this time – I was so exhausted on the way home I think I was asleep before we even got out of Corpus Christi. There were Jr. ROTC girls in our room and they got up at 5am and started moving around and packing their things. I managed to get back to sleep – but getting up at 7am was still hard!
