50 Things…

I found this at Kathy’s blog after she found it at another Kathy’s blog, and while I normally don’t do most memes, this one looked like fun. Give it a whirl! I even shared some fun little stories in mine to spice it up and make it a little more interesting!

1. Your name spelled backwards: enitsirhC. My first day of Kindergarten I freaked my teacher out. I already knew how to write my name, and she wanted to test if we knew our left from our right. So she said “Put your name on the right-hand side of your piece of paper.” I started at the far right margin and wrote it in *perfect* mirror image, with the “C” at the edge and the “e” ending up in the middle. Oops!
2. Where were your parents born? Dad – Forest Lake, Minnesota; Mom – Sykeston, North Dakota
3. What is the last thing you downloaded onto your computer? Service Pack 3 and the Windows Updates to make Jeff (the tech guru) happy today.
4. What’s your favorite restaurant? It’s soooo hard to pick just one – but I’d have to go with Lupe Tortilla’s.
5. Last time you swam in a pool? Does going to Splashtown this summer count?
6. Have you ever been in a school play? Yes, several times. I even belonged to our drama club in Junior High.
7. How many kids do you want? Good God, isn’t one enough? *wink* Seriously, it would depend on what my spouse and I agreed on.
8. Type of music you dislike most? Anything by Willie Nelson or Elvis. (Yes, I dared to say I don’t like Elvis. His voice annoys me to no end.)
9. Are you registered to vote? Yes.
10. Do you have cable? Yes – digital cable with a cable modem.
11. Have you ever ridden on a moped? No.
12. Ever prank call anybody? Oh, the stories I could tell you. We actually prank-ordered pizza once for someone and had it delivered to their house. I found out later that they paid for it!
13. Ever get a parking ticket? Yes – when the meter ran out in front of my office building in downtown.
14. Would you go bungee jumping or sky diving? HELL NO! (I’m quoting Kathy on that one!)
15. Furthest place you ever traveled? Farthest from Houston would be either Germany or Prague.
16. Do you have a garden? A (half dead) container garden on my patio.
17. What’s your favorite comic strip? Dilbert, although I think Scott Adams needs to start giving me credit for those story lines – I swear he’s copying my life!
18. Do you really know all the words to your national anthem? Yes.
19. Bath or Shower, morning or night? Showers are meant for the morning; long baths are meant for nighttime..
20. Best movie you’ve seen in the past month? Monsters, Inc.
21. Favorite pizza topping? Pepperoni, hamburger, canadian bacon & extra cheese.
22. Chips or popcorn? Depends. Popcorn for movies, chips with a sandwich.
23. What color lipstick do you usually wear? Jane “Punchline” or Max Factor LipFinity “Sassy”.
24. Have you ever smoked peanut shells? Ewww… no. Why would I do that?
25. Have you ever been in a beauty pageant? No.
26. Orange Juice or apple? Orange.
27. Who was the last person you went out to dinner with and where did you dine? With Kathy and “a whole gaggle of friends” to Doneraki’s last Friday night.
28. Favorite type chocolate bar? Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Miniatures or a Nestle Crunch.
29. When was the last time you voted at the polls? November, 2000 and you can bet it wasn’t for Bush. (I knew he would win the state, but I had to negate at least one of those votes.)
30. Last time you ate a homegrown tomato? When my Mom forced me to as a kid. I hate “raw” tomatoes.
31. Have you ever won a trophy? Yes.
32. Are you a good cook? Pretty good when I do it. I prefer to bake over cook though.
33. Do you know how to pump your own gas? Yes.
34. Ever order an article from an infomercial? Yes, a Tae-Bo boxed set that has barely been used.
35. Sprite or 7-up? Sprite.
36. Have you ever had to wear a uniform to work? Yes, back in college when I waited tables at Olive Garden.

39. Would you prefer being a millionaire or find true love? I would prefer to find true love.
40. Do you believe in love at first sight? Yes.
41. Ever call a 1-900 number? No, but once someone called, set up an ad at one (in 1987) and then gave people my parent’s phone number as the number to call back. Fortunately, I was out of town on a Geology camping trip and they knew I didn’t do it!
42. Can ex’s be friends? Normally, yes. But I’ve learned to let them just be ex’s so that I can move on with my life.
43. Who was the last person you visited in a hospital? My grandmother in the nursing home a year and a half ago. (Not really a hospital – but I try to avoid those.)
44. Did you have a lot of hair when you were a baby? Yes, and my son did too.
45. What message is on your answering machine? The generic “you’ve called, leave a message so I can call back” routine.
46. What’s your all time favorite Saturday Night Live Character? Following Kathy’s lead here, I would have to say Arianna and Craig, the cheerleaders!
47. What was the name of your first pet? I had a kitten for awhile when I was in college named Sabrina. Dorms don’t like kittens, so I had to give her away. Later I had a cat named Winston before my son was born.
48. What is in your purse? My digital camera, my wallet, my Handspring Visor, and a ton of other stuff.
49. Favorite thing to do before bedtime? Relax.
50. What is one thing you are grateful for today? Warm fuzzy moments. (And that’s all I’m saying about it.)

Oh … my … god … meat-lovers pizza! I hate veggies on my pizza (well, pretty much anytime). I didn’t claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables dammit! 😀
