But You Can Have It…

It should have been a sign that my evening with J-Mo was going to be rather slap-happy in the best of ways when I walked in to the Crazy Horse Cantina and caught her drinking my margarita. See, she called while I was at the bank picking up cash, and she asked me if I wanted her to order me a drink before happy hour ended. I said yes, but it took me a little while to get there from my office – game traffic and all. She was concerned that it was going to melt, so she decided to drink it for me. “But I only drank a little bit… you can have it back!”

Ohhhh yeah, we had a good time.

And it wasn’t just any one thing in particular that made it a good time – it was a chance to chat about all sorts of things, to drink margaritas, to take pictures, to laugh, to relax, to sing, and to dance.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to drink at least one more glass of water before I go to bed.

The Best Lock…

The image on the front page of Pixelog right now has to be one of the best macro shots I’ve taken to date with my G2. If you view the larger image, you can see rust flakes even – I love the detail. Now if only there was more time in the day to just wander and take photographs.

By the way – if you visit Pixelog and you like it, could you vote for me at Photoblogs.org? It’s fast and easy – there is a link on every page! (Also, Pixelog is a comment friendly zone. Feedback is always welcome!)

Day Trading…

Just a reminder – if you’ve been playing BlogShares, you have less than 12 hours or so (since it is 1pm GMT already) to cash out all your stocks so that you can take your cash over to the game when it leaves beta mode to go live.

Or you can do what I’m doing, scoop up some good stock cheap, and continue making money. You know, whatever works for you…

Feng Shui, Blog Style…

I’ve been doing some Feng Shui rearranging around here for the past day or two, behind the scenes, and it feels good. The sharp angles aren’t in spots where they hurt when you bump in to them, and there are fish and plants. Ok, not really, but it still feels good to do some housekeeping.

As I was poking around, I discovered something. There are a lot of you out there that link to this site that I have never heard of. I’m assuming that if you link to me, you just might travel through here every once in awhile. This is your open invitation to say hi and let me know you’re around. I can’t read your site if I don’t know about your site, can I? Come on … tell me who you are. I don’t bite. Well, not unless you ask me to…

Snob-o-Meter…

Just yesterday I was complaining about the concept of a Reality TV channel. Then the TiVo, always looking out for me, shared a clip of Manor House, currently airing on PBS. Nineteen volunteers move in to a house set in Edwardian Britian and live out life as servants and masters. They have to live by the rules of Edwardian society, where people know their place and do as is expected of them.

Taking Manderston (an authentic Edwardian pleasure palace in the Scottish Borders), a family of five and a newly formed staff of 14 – this six-part series turns back the clock to re-create life as it was for the new rich and their servants during the halcyon period in British social history before the First World War.

For those of us that love things such as “Sense & Sensibility” and “Pride & Prejudice”, this looks like it will be quite perfect. I’ve already set the Tivo to start recording it today!

And yes, there is a Snob-o-Meter on the site so you can test your snob powers and determine if you would have ended up upstairs or downstairs!
