Living in the Past…

I hate it when I’m watching something I recorded weeks ago on the Tivo and I forget I’m watching a recording. A news clip between commercials came on, and it was the local NBC anchor, telling me to prepare for one of the coldest nights in Houston’s history. But … it was nice outside earlier, and it’s not supposed to be cold until later this week? Oh. Oops. I’m watching a recording from January 23, when the temps were down in to the 20s and low 30s. Not like today, where the high was 79 and it’s currently 65 degrees.

I just hate that time warp feeling.

Open Wings…

The first of my photos from the museum on Saturday is online at Pixelog. I posted wallpapers too for download – I love how this photo looks blown up. I have the 1600×1200 image as my desktop right now.

The Finalists…

I have finally found the right page for the SXSW Website Competition Finalists and Pixelog is up against some great sites: Greg Storey’s Airbag, Erich Ian, Ultramicroscopic and WHEDONesque.

I suspect the Buffy fans will be the loudest at the awards ceremony – what do you think?

By the way, I’m adding more photos to Pixelog tonight, in case you’re not using one of the skins on this site with the thumbnails.

Unrequited Kindness Weekend…

Mike (that would be Cooties Mike, not to be confused with Coffee Mike, Nasty Mike or any other Mike) has come up with a *fantastic* idea.

Here is my personal challenge to you: do something genuinely nice for someone before Monday. Do it not because you owe them, not because you have to, not because you expect workers compensation easley sc of any sort, aside from a smile and a ‘thank you’ (and even that isn’t a requirement).

I have been thinking today about the shuttle explosion. It’s hard not to, especially in a city where two of the astronauts live, home of Mission Control and a place where Nasa is so prevalent. As we drove to the museum today, the signs on the side of I-45 that are normally there to tell you of accidents or detours instead had a warning to call the police if you found shuttle debris.

The tragedy of this morning was a reminder that life can be cut short when you least expect it. People die every day in accidents. We are on the verge of war, where lives will be lost. Don’t take that for granted.

So I think that declaring the first weekend of February of each year “Unrequited Kindness Weekend” is a great idea. Go and spread some love.

I Think I’m Turning Japanese…

The Japanese Facemarks (smileys) are very amusing and something I know Jennifer can use with all her Japanese focused freelance projects! I think I’m turning Japanese, I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so…

This one … \(^o\)(/o^)/ … has to be my favorite! [via Textism]
