Lee Greenwood Never Tires of Song. But Lee, I am tired of it. And “his healing balm for the nation”? Hurl. As a former Army wife, I got burned out on that song during Desert Storm. I have never recovered. I cringe every time I hear that song. Seriously. My boss had a screensaver running one day that played it over and over while he was gone for a meeting. I snapped. I finally unplugged his speakers & left him a note. I couldn’t take it any more.

I am as patriotic as the next guy, don’t get me wrong. I love America. I am glad people are taking notice and standing proud. But take the ratty, nasty flags off of your cars and stop making me listen to that song!

i know someone who worked for lee greenwood…she got fired because she talked about her job on her online diary and some of it was far from complimentary, and one of her coworkers showed it to the boss…
she was cool…she moved i think, and passworded but i really liked that diary.

Oh I KNOW! I was a Marine wife during Desert Storm, and that song drove me nuts!!! Yeah, “I’m Proud to Be an American”, but shutup already! 🙂

Hmmm, well the chick working for Lee Greenwoood wasn’t too smart then … Anything I have ever said here I have said to my boss first – like the screensaver, I left him a note & I told him as soon as he returned from that meeting that hearing that song over & over was making me climb the walls. Our offices face one another, so we hear everything when it comes to music. He was cool with it and turned the sound down on the screensaver, and all was well. My boss may very well know about my site on his own – I have pulled it up from the office, it would be in the log files.

So agree with you on the car flags issue. It’s just wrong to have ratted flags. Read your military manual — if a flag is ratty, you replace it with a new one.

I 4th or 5th on the flags. I picked up a nice little USA sticker (the white ovals with the black border like in Europe). Matches the other side that says WWW (in the same oval) and the license plate (GEEEEEK).
