Huh, Whathuh?

Did you notice that post below? The one that says it’s restricted? Well, I wanted to get restricted access set up before I get a new job – just in case I ever need it. I really don’t want to keep you out if you are a frequent reader – I just want to be sure I know who is accessing those posts. So don’t be shy – send the e-mail, I’ll grant you access. I won’t be using it often, but it’s better to have it set up now rather than later!

It’s cookie based, not IP – so if you have an IP address that changes all the time that should be ok. If you clear out your cookies all the time, I can give you password access instead – just let me know!

Props to Jennifer and her ScriptyGoddess skills for helping me out with this!

Blah Blah Bloggie!

It’s that time again! The nominations for the 2003 Bloggies are up and running! Last year I came this close *pinchy finger gesture* to making it to the finals, but in the end I just got to sponsor an award – which I will be doing again this year! And since I plan on being at SXSW, Nikolai said that we could present our award to the winner if we were there! So shoo! Go submit your nominations! [via Robyn]

Moves All Around…

Just in case you didn’t know already – you know, if you’re offline a lot like I am lately – Geekgrrl has moved her site here and Kat has moved here. Now go and update your blogrolls! (While I’m busy updating mine!)

Additions! Carla has moved here! And Kathy was having problems with her old host, so she’s moving her other sites on over to Blogomania. She’s up & running already and her blog is temporarily here. New year on it’s way, everyone is moving around!

Oops! Double Oops!

In the past, thanks to one of the perks of MovableType, I banned three IPs from leaving comments. Like I said earlier, I really am open to any comments you might have, but one of those IPs was useed to spam my comments with nasty trash, and the other two … well, I don’t even remember why I banned them. But thanks to Tracy pointing out to me that sometimes she can’t leave a comment because of it, I deleted them all. Soooo… if you’ve had problems commenting before, you should be all set now.

Moving on to a topic that seems to ruffle feathers, did you know that Duhhhbya’s approval rating has dropped? Yeah, the media doesn’t want you to pick up on it, but it’s true. A December 17-18 Time/CNN poll has found that only 55% approve of how he is handling his job as president, 48% doubt whether or not they can trust him, and 55% felt that his accomplishments in office are because of his advisors. Maybe people are getting over the patriotic chest beating and finally opening their eyes to what a clueless idiot the man truly is? Maybe? At last? (I won’t even go in to my personal conspiracy theories right now…) [via Scott]

I should point out that my hate for Duhhhbya goes all the way back to when he ran for governor in 1994. It is nothing new for me. I thought he was a slimy creep then and I still feel that way today. What do you think of him? Come on … be honest. It’s ok – even if you disagree with me. Varied opinions are what make the world go around.

Blogomania & Babbling…

Happy happy, joy joy … we have a wonderful, working Helpdesk for Blogomania clients now! YEAH! A huge thanks to Jennifer for getting it set up! Part of the reason why I wanted to get it up and running? Because Kristine is helping with support requests now during the hours I am away! Yes, I do actually leave the computer for a few hours every once in awhile…

Speaking of leaving the computer, I was making soap earlier and I realized something … I am very OCD about how my soap loaves come out. I patiently make everything by hand, so when I am placing the “chunks” in a loaf of soap I get picky about where the cubes fall. You can’t have a bunch of purple cubes all bunched up together, you know! Oh my. I think Elizabeth might be the only person that will truly understand this compulsive issue.

As for soap colors – Mike arrived on Friday before Jason’s pagent as I was wrapping up a batch of snowflakes. I don’t just use one shade of blue color. Oh no – there is the dark blue with the mica in it, and then there is 2-3 drops of the other blue along with 2 drops of red. To get it to the “just right” shade of blue. I can’t have it any other way.

I have more fragrances around here then I have soap designs. How did that happen? A secret on how I come up with the soap designs … I smell a fragrance, and then I think about what colors come to mind. From there, I look for inspiration on what the scent represents to determine how to make the soap design. Unfortunately, there are only so many “looks” that I can make, so I am afraid that after awhile they all start to look the same!

Speaking of Mike, Jason & I went to “Lights in the Heights” to see him perform (with the Lager Rhythms) and then we went to the Christmas party at Charles and Tiffany’s house. They have a gorgeous house and it was the perfect setting and a nice end to the evening (even with my horrid migraine). Lights in the Heights was so beautiful – I can’t believe I’ve been missing it all these years! The Lager Rhythms were great as usual – I love watching them perform. Now I’m feeling all festive and so I was in a panic earlier when I realized all the stuff I need to finish between now and Christmas – and I’m starting a 5-day temp assignment tomorrow. Speaking of which – I’ve got a ton of stuff to do – so after I finish writing out my list I’m off to do more!

:: Fix printer.
:: Recreate labels or find the file.
:: Print labels.
:: Pack & label the most recent orders to ship.
:: Ship boxes.
:: Finish getting Christmas addresses. Hijack a copy of Mom’s list.
:: Finish Christmas cards.
:: Arrow of Light – 4:45pm tonight.
:: Finish decorating the tree. Enough of the “simple” tree look.
:: Get Dad’s Christmas gift.
:: Return extra labels to Office Depot.
:: Return stuff to Wal-Mart.
:: Breath. Relax. Enjoy the moment – it’s the Holidays after all!
