Gee, are you Going to Hell?

Thanks to Keith, I could not resist following the link to Your (sic) Going to Hell. This sort of thing annoys me. I am Christian. I am. I am not going to go around and beat you up & tell you that whatever beliefs you have, choices you make are wrong. I am not about to shout at you about how you are damned to Hell because of your beliefs. More importantly, I don’t believe Jews are going to Hell. Sorry, just don’t buy it. Jesus was a Jew. The Jewish were God’s “Chosen People”. Does that end when Christianity begins? I could rant on & on about that. But again – those are my beliefs. MINE. We can sit around & debate it all day, and you know what? We won’t know who is right until we die and see what waits in the afterlife. If there is an afterlife. So you can quote the scriptures to me all you want about how the only way to the Father is through the Son. And you know what I’ll say? Don’t judge others. It’s not your place. Be careful. Matthew 7:1-3 (NIV) – “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?”

Candi, it’s the only scripture I can say I have memorized (and I still had to look it up to remember where exactly it was at and to check the words) but it is one of my personal favorites. I try to practice tolerance at all times. One of my favorite quotes to this day is “Preach the Gospel at all times… if necessary, use words.” (St. Francis of Assisi) Live by example. Actions so often speak louder than words.

Actually Judaism DOES end where Christianity begins. That’s the point. If you did not have to accept Christ as your saviour and all that why would God have made him go through the whole ordeal.
