Hello from the hospital!

I had an appointment still with the cardiologist yesterday, originally for surgery clearance. I did not want the Lupron without her approval. I asked Mike to drive me there because I had been getting pretty dizzy. Good thing I did that, because I basically fainted right after I got in the car.

The rest of the day went downhill from there.

We decided that the take iron and the Lupron option was not going to work. It would take at least 2 weeks to start to recover my iron stores. Obviously, I could not stay so weak that long, I would have been at risk for shock and other issues. Plus the Lupron can cause blood pressure problems. My original OB not only disagreed when we called him, he was quite rude about it.

So my doctor called on a different OB and got me in to see him right away.

That doctor saw me and immediately admitted me to the hospital for a blood trsnsfusion. We will be doing surgery on Friday most likely; the ultrasound results from late last night will tell us more. The transfusion helped a LOT and I feel much better today compared to yesterday!

Holy shit Christine! A blood transfusion?! What the hell is going on? Obviously you needed a second opinion. Maybe 3. Take care and keep blogging. Can we see you in your hospital gown? What? Are you staying there for a few days? And what hospital is it?

Oh my God, Christine!! I’m glad your doctor decided to go over your other OB and get you a new one. I’m sending all sorts of healing thoughts your way, and I hope the surgery goes well and you can get some answers!

Oh sweetie. Jenna sent me your way. I haven’t been reading ANY blogs lately, so I had no idea. We will all be praying for you. This sounds similar to what my mom went through about 20 years ago. She felt so much better afterwards. Transfusions used to make me crave steak!

Much love to you and your mombo! I miss y’all.

You’re on my mind.

Love,
Debster

OH-MY-GOSH!!??? (Had to spell that one out.) Seems like you are in good hands though and they are really moving on things. I will be praying for you, Christine. You’ll be back to being the photography hero SOON, I’m sure! (Loved that story the other day….)

I really hope this new OB knows what he’s doing, because to have let you go on this long is completely INSANE!! I mean, wasn’t I posting here WEEKS ago about how a friend of mine had the same symptoms you did, and not even for that long, and she ended up severely anemic? Make them take care of you, otherwise I’m gonna come down there and kick some dr.butt!!! Feel better soon!!

Holy Crap!!! We’ve never met, i just love your blog. Take it easy and get well soon, so you can punch your OB in the mouth when you are better.
I also concur we need a pic of you in your hospital gown 🙂
