Ok, temptation got the best of me. Last night I went to Columbia House and ordered DVDs. Signed up for a membership for me and one for Jason – doesn’t everyone get two memberships? I ordered “Almost Famous”, “Men in Black: Limited Edition” (or whatever the “top of the line” one is), “Chicken Run”, “What Dreams May Come”, “Shanghai Noon”, “Rush Hour”, “Notting Hill”, “Friday”, and “The Kid”.
Somehow I guess I thought that wasn’t enough, so today I went to the local pawn shop which has DVDs for $10 each. Never know what you might find, but it’s a great deal and if anything is wrong with it you have 2 weeks to return it. Heck, for $10 I figure I can’t go wrong. So bought “The Mummy: Ultimate Edition” (2 disc set), “A Bug’s Life: Gold Collection” (something extra, don’t know what) and “Weekend at Bernie’s”. Then tonight (this is where I went overboard) I went to Blockbuster to see what Previously Viewed selections they had. I got “Meet the Parents” ($7.50), “The Hurricane” ($9.99), “Miss Congeniality” ($7.50), “The Green Mile” ($9.99) and “Bounce” (2 disc set, $12.99). At least they were all fairly cheap – “The Hurricane” was priced $14.99, “Miss Congeniality” was priced $12.99, and “Meet the Parents” was priced $9.99 – so the cheaper prices were a surprise!
Of the ones that I bought, I haven’t seen “The Green Mile”, “Bounce” and “Miss Congeniality”. I also have not seen “The Matrix” yet – I bought it last winter when I got my DVD player but haven’t ever watched it! I guess I have a lot of movie watching to do!
