Hey, at least you get to see something. Here in the Northeast it will be after sunset when the eclipse begins, so we’ll see nothing at all.

According to this page http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/ASE2002/ASE2002city1/ASE2002city1.html the eclipse starts in Houston at 6:29pm and you’ll have maximum totality before the sun actually sets. Looks like about 60% of the maximum, too.
