Photo of me, taken by Elaine
A few weeks ago, Staci posted photos of her new haircut. I was still in Germany at the time, and immediately left her a comment asking who did her hair. She wrote me back right away (she is awesome like that) and sent me all of his contact info. I called him as soon as we got home, booked an appointment, and yesterday was the big day. We took inches off of my hair. It was interesting – he pointed out that I didn’t want a Pob, but rather I wanted a haircut all my own. He listened to what I wanted done with the color and added fine, blended low-lights to my hair. He worked with the shape, the style, and my hair to get to the look that he thought would be best on me. I am still getting used to it – it still feels weird being so much shorter, but I went in wanting a *style* and not just a haircut, and I definitely got what I wanted. I’m quite happy with it.
You know what was really cool about the whole thing? I had told him when we were first doing our consult that I don’t do futzing with my hair. Blowdry, go. So when he finished cutting it, he styled it without the fancy roundbrush that no one can ever do at home. He used his hands only, showed me exactly how much of every product he was using, how to apply it, how to work the hair as I dry it, how to get it 90% dry (where he had me feel the hair so I would know exactly how dry he meant) and how to use the round brush to finish it. I left there knowing that I should be able to do everything he did, and I should be able to have my hair dry in under 10 minutes. This made me add to his tip. Seriously, it was that worth it to me.
I’m going to the Rockstar Photography workshop at the end of October, and Corey McNabb asked for headshots of the attendees. Elaine took this photograph of me last night, after we were out and about at a pre-opening party for her job. I love her fabulous RED wall in her office, and it was the perfect look for this shot – exactly what I wanted!
Thanks again for shooting me, Elaine! It is FANTASTIC!

I wish I had such a hairdresser here that wouldn’t cost me a fortune.
Very nice!
You look great! So much style! Robert is the master at giving us what we need…even if we don’t agree with him at first.
Wow! Christine, you look FAB!
Your hair looks great!
It was a fun shoot Chirstine – I am glad we got a shot you liked so much out of it! We were both loopy & tired… and yay! No squinty eye in this one!
The hair looks fab – as does the red wall. I just bought a handbag the same color, and I’m dying for a night on the town just so I can use it.

Wow, you look GREAT!!!
I love the hair! That is so pretty! I need to find me a hairdresser like that.
You look terrific! Where did you go?
Looks terrific on you!
The hair looks great! And to have a hairdresser take the time to show you how to achieve the style they’ve cut is awesome!
Beautiful! That is a wonderful haircut/hairstyle. It definitely becomes you.
Looks great..obviously you have great hair to work with..
I saw your picture on Elaine’s Flickr stream. You look fantastic! It’s awesome to hear that you found a stylist that you like. I’ve finally found someone, after years of feeling like I don’t click with haircutters, and dreading going back in to see someone new.
Your blog is lovely–I think I’ll have a look around! 🙂
I’m looking for a new hairstylist, so call me *tomorrow* about this. Seriously. Fucking call me. I need a hair cut this week.
Oh…my…GOSH! I LOVE the new hair!! It’s absolutely beautiful and perfect for you! And 10 minutes to do? I so need to make an appointment for my mop. Don’t suppose he has a twin in Pennsylvania, huh? Yea…didn’t think so.
What a great shot! I love love love it!
A new hair cut does wonders for oneself, yes? You look maaaahhhhvelous!
That pic if fabulous, the red wall is a perfect background (I love red)! I do love your hair – the cut and the color – it was the reason I didn’t know for sure that it was you when you walked in to Twisted Yarns Friday. 🙂
If you remember, I shot you that day as well, I’ll be posting the picture soon on Ravelry and my blog (just had to get past baby Ella’s birthday party yesterday.) Um, my pic isn’t quite as good as this one, lol.
Cute hair! And I linked here from Ravelry, which struck me as funny. You are apparently some sort of celebrity! 😉
Very shexy! Love the bob on you. When are you sending your address so I can get this Ravelry button out to you!
I know this is an oldish post but I was just scrolling and reading and saw this and I had to say – beautiful! And congrats on the business.
