Last night I went with Mike and the rest of the Lager Rhythms to the Mucky Duck to see DaVinci’s Notebook who were absolutely wonderful. Being the stressed out gal that I’ve been though, their opening act, Stephen Lynch, was JUST what I needed. Musical comedy – what more could you ask for? He was so funny my side hurt from laughing so hard. Check out their schedules – see if they are coming to your town – and you can catch Stephen Lynch on Comedy Central too. Matter of fact, go and vote for him as the “favorite Comedy Central Presents comedian” at the Comedy Central site!
By the time I got home I was simply exhausted though – so no pictures of downtown yet. Tonight though. Matter of fact, I snapped some with the PenCam as I came over the viaduct this morning. It wasn’t as clear as it was yesterday, but it was still beautiful.

oooooo! DaVinci’s Notebook is so much fun!! they also tour a lot with Eddie From Ohio — if you ever get a chance — go see them too!! 🙂
Stephen Lynch is great. Usually I’m not a big fan of musical comedy, but his stuff is so wonderfully warped I don’t care.
did he sing the song about getting caught by his dad doin’ that thang?
He sang it on the local radio here and I had to pull over, I was afraid I’d get into an accident. love him.
Eddie From Ohio will be at the Duck on March 6th. We’ve seen them there before, and they’re fabulous.
By the way, Christine, feel free to link to Lager Rhythms at http://www.whoosiewhatsie.com/lager/.
that sounds like FUN! the mucky duck is such a great place to catch acts like that….i got to see guy forsythe and hays carll there a month or so ago with my girlfriend, and they did the same sort of thing…was like a musical comedy.
glad you had such a great time, christine!
Yeah, Hayes Carll is great; caught him at Noise for Tots @ the Mucky Duck in December. DVN does a GREAT show, too – and I had forgotten about Eddie from Ohio.
Might as well also throw in a plug for the PC Cowboys – hilarious music and a fabulous stage presence.
How could you forget Eddie From Ohio? (Said with a smirk because I’ve only heard of Eddie on Susannah’s blog!)
Stacey – He did! He did! He played that song about doing that thing. I was laughing *so* hard I thought I was going to fall out of my chair. He said he had just played in Boston recently, so I wondered if he had been on the radio there. (He was on it here yesterday morning.)
I am so jealous. They are my fav.. I haven’t seen them in so long. Glad they made your day.
Hey, chica, you are hard to get ahold of. Give me a call at some point regarding all those voicemails I’ve been harrasing you with. 😉
Here’s my picture of downtown when we passed through last year on our drive from San Jose, CA to Washington, DC …
*lol* Su beat me to it. DVN ROCKS! We’ve seen them a few times now, and they never fail to be completely awesome.
I absolutely *adore* DVN! Add in Stephen Lynch, and that is a dream show! Glad to hear that you have a great time, you deserve it 🙂
