Next Time You Wonder…

Wondering just how powerful MovableType is? Running 2.0, this blog has 1466 entries, counting this one. 3050 comments. And I’m sharing 2.0 with Robyn, who has 441 entries in her 2002 blog with 2025 comments. Hey, wait … that is an average of 4.59 comments per post for her vs 2.08 for me. Why don’t people leave me comments like they leave her? Oh, wait … not the purpose of this post. The purpose is to say, once again, that MT kicks butt. Oh, and I can do a full rebuild of my blog, including archives (monthly, weekly & daily) in under 2 minutes. 1466 entries. 2 minutes. Thank you Ben & Mena for such an awesome tool!

i keep hearing everyone talking about MT. you’re getting me psyched up to try it! lol 🙂

(i lurk here a lot, just rarely post comments, but i want to see if we can get you up to 4.59 comments per post too :))

I’m the worst – I tend to want to comment on EVERY post and then I think… uh oh Christine’s gonna go insane with all these silly emails that have no real point in her email… what was my point again??! 😉

I do so love MT. Its so neato and wonderful, and perfect!!!!

No! No! I LOVE COMMENTS! I ADORE YOU! I want comments! Silly comments! Witty comments! Funny comments! Whatever – chatter is GOOD!!! That way at least I don’t feel like I am talking to myself!

how difficult was it for you to change your templates from v1.x to v2.0? i don’t have any problems with perl, or CGI, or modules. i just don’t relish the idea of having to re-create all my templates for the new MT. would it be worth waiting until i am finished my new blog design, or was it a quick switch for you?

Mike, you don’t have to change any of your templates *because* you upgrade — just if you want to implement the new features the upgrade brings with it (for example the e-mail this post form now in my comments). You won’t lose your templates when you do the upgrade. Kind of like adding oil to the car…takes a few minutes but the car drives the same! 🙂 2.0’s interface is much more beautiful, IMHO, though.
