Rude Ass Cat

The past 3 weeks (my God, has it been 3 weeks?) have been rough on a lot of people. So many people have chosen to show their patriotism by changing their site design to display the Stars & Stripes in some form or fashion. Heck, I did it myself with one of my skins. Because I felt it was right. Because it was what I needed to do. So it *REALLY* ticked me off to read pixelkitty’s slam comment regarding Catherine’s site. I will spare you the agony of waiting for pixelkitty’s site to load (it takes horribly long and I am on a T1 line right now… plus I hate to drive more traffic her way, but if you have to look, go here.) She only has one line there and it says this: “Some people really need [ help ]. Sure its ok to be patriotic, but this goes way too far. Trust me.” (The word help links to Catherine’s site.) NO. I will NOT trust you. Who the *uck are you to judge what is or is not “too far”? I have been admiring Catherine’s site for a week. I think it is wonderful. It is clean, the DHTML menu and the rest of the content LOADS FAST, it is pleasing to read. Her patriotism gave me a warm feeling. Pixelkitty lives in Australia according to her “contact” page. Maybe she just doesn’t understand how the Americans are feeling right now? Maybe it is just WRONG to attack someone verbally like that after what we have been through this past month? I don’t know. Maybe it’s just me. I know I have already criticized the people who are singing the national anthem at baseball games when they were silent before, or the sudden display of flags everywhere. My point wasn’t that the singing or the flags were wrong… it was that they should have been doing it ALL ALONG.

So, to be honest, pixelkitty can kiss my ass. (There, I said it for you Catherine.) I applaud all of the awesome patriotic sites out there. Thank you for showing your love for our country.

I won’t even comment on the slam… I’m with you Christine!… mean people suck. ok… so I will make one small comment… Last I checked, web journals were for the benefit of the *writer*, you don’t like the design, that’s your deal. Unless you’ve specifically been asked to critique a site… keep it to yourself.
