The Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Torch Relay will be heading through Houston on Monday! Whoo hooo! And today’s Houston trivia … Houston is the “youngest” major city in the US with a median age of 30.3 years old. No wonder I feel so ancient! Also, Houston was the first word spoken from the moon. (You know, something like “Houston, the Eagle has landed…”) Yep, just 2 months before I was born. (Facts about Houston from the Coca-Cola Torch Relay site.)

LOL. There was also “Houston, we have a problem.” *grin*
PLEEZE come out on Monday if you can. They’re concerned that not many will show up. Hell, I won’t even be going. I was supposed to make a banner to get more people out there, but it looks like my coworker who has all the supplies, info, etc has fallen off the face of the earth.
They haven’t done a very good job on telling people where to go – the last time the torch came through, I knew in advance where to go, etc. This time I just heard about it in passing because some of the anchors from channel 2 will be carrying it. So … where is it at?
Thanks for the link! They’re coming through Kansas City on January 9th! I might have to go up there and cheer them on. 🙂
It’s going to be here in Austin on Tuesday with Lance Armstrong carrying it. I am so there! I can’t wait!
