What a Day…

What a day it has been. Not a bad day at all – it’s gorgeous outside, sunshine and blue skies for a change, and I woke up early and had a good start to the day – but it’s been a busy, busy day!

I started off with two meetings this morning, one from 10:00 – 11:30 or so and another from 12:15 – 1:00. Then Kymberlie and I headed out for a scrumptious lunch of chips & queso and fajitas that were just fantastic! Photos from our trip coming soon! Then it was back to the office to work on 20 different projects (or so it seemed) at the same time. *Whew!* I need a nap!

After work I’m off to Michael’s to look for flowers to make a hairpiece for the Ren Fest. Tonight it’s dinner with the gaggle of friends (term coined by Kathy) at Robert, Oskar & Joe’s new house. Tomorrow is the trip up to the Ren Fest with the H-Town Bloggers – and the weather should be a lot nicer then it was last weekend, so there will be lots of photo opportunities! I can’t wait!

Since I won’t be around too much in the next day or so, here are some Fresh Friday Finds for you to enjoy! They may not be new to you, but they are new to me! (Or they were missing from my Blogroll and I want to point them out to you as I add them!) To keep you busy it’s a Baker’s Dozen!

What a Day…

I fixed Gnome-Girl’s site today after breaking it last night. Yes, I did a MT upgrade and something went haywire. Next thing I knew neither one of us could log in to her site. Ugh. But after the 3rd reinstall, something finally worked out and now it’s working just like it should. I don’t know, and I won’t question it since it’s working! When that was all fixed, I set up her designs in to skins, so now you have design choices when you visit! Then it was off to set up another site. And more skins.

Now I have to finish up another project for Chris and after that I need to get my stuff together so I can start my new fitness plan bright & early in the morning!

Wow. What a boring post. Oh well, I promise more tomorrow!

that wasn’t boring at all.

skins are my next project. i’ve saved off the old purple templates — since coming up with ideas is my biggest drawback to having skins, i mean, look how long i was purple like that? anyway, i fear skins, the whole thing looks very complicated. but i lust after them, so, … one of these days.

now this, this, is a boring comment.

Good luck with the new fitness plan. I just got back into working out and had to take a week off for an illness. I don’t know…working out isn’t a whole lot of fun. They should bottle and sell it!

What a Day…

Yesterday it was surprise e-mails from the IO. He sent that same e-mail to my office as he sent to me at home. I wrote him back from here…

Please do not send mail of a personal nature to my work e-mail address. You have my home e-mail, and all personal mail should be directed there accordingly. Thanks.

His response was about as long as mine yesterday.

no problem

Ok, so moving on … I just got a call from my Mom. “What is a BlahBlahBlog?” My response? “HUH???” I mean, I knew what she was talking about, but had NO idea where that came from. Then I realized that on Christmas Eve I asked her if I could use the computer. I read a few blogs, and so they are in her address bar now. (Her history too, I am sure.) She uses that instead of bookmarks to track where she has been and return to websites, so it upset her to see “other” sites in there. Yes, you read that right. Ok, whatever. “I thought you were checking your e-mail.” No. I asked if I could use the computer. I went to websites. I asked first how to get onto the internet with freaky Verizon, and then I surfed some sites, including Amazon and others. I didn’t download anything. I didn’t hurt anything. *sigh* Ok, whatever. I am reminded once again that there are some people I can simply never make happy. FINE.

Anyone know how to block an IP from even viewing your site? Jennifer? Anyone? I don’t want to feel like I have to look over my shoulder at every move I make.

actually, it’s really easy, I’ll just post it here, if you have questions IM me…

create a file with this name exactly:
.htaccess

In the file put this text:
AuthName “Forbidden”
AuthType Basic

order allow,deny
allow from all

(remove the space after the ” that say something like this:
deny from 123.45.678
deny from somethingsomething.com

Put the .htaccess file in the topmost directory of the site you want to block…

Let me know if that doesn’t make sense. 🙂
