Yeah! I have a Key!

I, the queen of cheap, who loves freeware of all kinds, shelled out the moola for a donation to MT, and went for the $45 donation even, because MT has made my life that much easier. Hmmmm, maybe I will get the other blogs converted tonight…

I am currently a blogger person, but have been considering moving to MT. My only worry is how easy it is to use. I am always worried about not being able to grasp the code. So having babled all that, I guess my question is: How user friendly is MT?
Thanks.

Well, it depends. How good are you at reading instructions? The initial set-up was incredibly fast (saying that after setting up 4-5 GM sites). Tweaking their templates just took a little time – the longest thing for me was tweaking skins & comments – had to get over that mental hurdle. If you aren’t doing that (or even if you are, I can help!) then it’s pretty straightforward. The MT support board is great, I don’t mind helping at all, and their manual is pretty easy to follow, very well written.

It’s been awhile since I used Blogger, and the difference there with MT is having to FTP the files in ASCII mode and being able to chmod things. I didn’t know how to do that last April, so that was a little learning curve for me when I went from Blogger to GM. Now I can do it without blinking.

I’ll stick with GM – heh 🙂
one thing, though Christine — your text is centered. Is it supposed to be? I find it very hard to read like this. But that’s just me. I like reading from left to right, not in the middle. Gad, I’m anal! lol
