It’s That Time of Year!

Since Jason started school so early – we are ahead of the game with the school fundraiser! So it’s that time of year … his school is selling Entertainment Coupon Books which are full of restaurant coupons, and things like airfare, hotel and travel discounts, buy one, get one free museum passes, and even discounts for stores like Walgreens and Target. The Houston one even has a $5 off of $50 worth of groceries for every month for both Randalls and Krogers. You can preview them online if you want to see what all they offer.

Really a great value for only $21.00.

If you’re in Houston and you are interested in buying one, send me an e-mail and let me know (me at this domain dot com). That way he will get credit for the sale – last year he had the top sales in the school! He really wants to do the same again this year too – and you can help!

If you’re not in Houston, don’t despair! Let me know via e-mail and we can hook you up too! Or you can help out by ordering one online at Entertainment.com – enter the school account number 305374 and his school will still get credit for the sale.

This now concludes my shameless plug … thank you for your help!

Know What’s Missing?

I was listening to a CD of the greatest hits from the ’80s, and I realized what is missing from today’s music – people seem to have lost that fine art of using the synthesizer. There is nothing like a good electric synthesized beat to get you going while you’re driving down the road. Know what I mean?

Back To Our Regularly Scheduled Program…

Guess what? Pixelog has finally been updated. I know, I know … try not to faint from the shock!

There is still a part of me that wants to completely merge both sites in to one somehow so that my photos will get the love that they deserve. I don’t know … I just don’t know. It’s either that or redesign this site so that the photos are included on every skin. Hmmm…

So? What do you think?
(Yes, I truly want your feedback on this.)

Mad Props!

I just had to leave a quick note of thanks to Syd, Liz & Jen (that’s J slash Mo dot com…) for a fantastic girls night out last night! It was just what I needed. Chips, queso, margaritas, fajitas AND good conversation! Did I mention I was starting Weight Watchers again? Yeah, last night was about 1000 points. Oops. Although I think I should get to count all the points I burned off by laughing so hard too!

I was posting photos in the Moblog. I need to find a way to add the latest ones there to the main page of the site, although that could get very cluttered.

Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused. -Unknown [snagged from Jen.]

I Wanna Be a Star!

On Monday, as I drove in to downtown, I noticed that there was a flag man in the parking lot next to Minute Maid Park. This lot is far from any of the downtown office buildings, and there couldn’t have been a game that early in the morning, so it seemed really odd.

Tuesday morning as I drove in, I noticed a police car over by one of the stadium entrances. There seemed to be a line of people there too. Strange – too late in the season for people to be lining up for jobs at the park or something like that. Not that people would line up to work there, but I couldn’t think of a better reason.

Yesterday morning, I finally found out what was going on. It seems that we are one of the cities hosting American Idol tryouts. 1500 tried out, 400 got call backs yesterday, but only a handful will make the final cut.

I don’t know if I could ever do it. Even though the tryouts were only 30 seconds long, it would take me longer than that to get over my nerves, and even then … I couldn’t do it. Doesn’t matter though – I also found out that the tryouts are limited to 18 – 24 year olds. What?! You mean, at almost 34, I can’t be an American Idol? I think that’s just outrageous. Why do they limit it to people so young? Something about that really bothers me, and I can’t quite figure out why…
