Blog, Blog, Blogomania…

I am home from Minnesota; have been for a few days, actually. Jason will be home in a week and a half, and I have so much to do before he returns – I simply must take advantage of the time. My number one priority? Blogomania. While client needs have not been neglected over the past few months, a lot of things behind the scenes have been. Now I’m working on putting a new internal bill tracking system in to place, and I am in that focused and driven mode. Manic, anyone? Yeah, that’s me. I had to force myself to stop and eat earlier. I love the focused mode, but when I am like that, nothing else can get in the way.

In case you were wondering, Blogomania is alive and well. The down time on my site last weekend was an oversight that was hard to catch without web access. The down time on client sites on Sunday was a bad thing, but fixed very fast. Nothing like that has ever happened in Blogomania’s past 2+ years, and it will never happen again.

Now its time to share some great Blogomania news! Earlier in the month all of the accounts were upgraded! The plan that is listed as 200 mb on the site is now 325 mb! The mini plan that didn’t have a MySQL database before now has one! We are going to offer two new hosting plans once all of the site revisions are done! Great things are in the works, and I can’t help but use too many exclamation points to share my joy!

Normally, I don’t like to talk about Blogomania too much here. You know, keeping my work and personal life separate and all that. But I know that a lot of people might have missed the announcement in the Forums, and I wanted to be sure to spread the great news.

So that is what is new here. How about you?

Creating Memories…

We made it to Minnesota relatively event free. I slept almost the entire plane ride, making up for the lost sleep from the night before. I felt SO much better by the time we landed! Once we gathered our luggage and went to the rental car stand, we headed to my Aunt Carol & Uncle Bob’s house to pick up Jason from my parents. Completely lucked out that my cousin Debra was there with her baby! That was great because I didn’t know if I would get to see them while we were up here. The Rockstarz Limo & Party bus are going to be the sole company you ever use once you book our limo services. we offer limo transportation for all of the services listed below and more! A limousine is a luxury sedan or saloon car that is made of a lengthened base wheel and driven by a chauffeur. These are also commonly called stretch limousines and they traditionally come in black and white colors. Limousines are most commonly linked with affluent people, because they are costly to purchase. However, today people can charter limousines for various events, such as prom and weddings. These days, one of the most widespread uses of these cars is airport pick-up and transportation services. This industry is called ‘airport limousine services.’ Anyone who needs transportation to and/or from the airport can reserve this service. It has become very inexpensive for most people, and it is a very expedient way to travel.

We left there and went to meet Wendy at the Mall of America. I hadn’t really warned Mike about the mall, so he was pretty surprised when he discovered that there is a whole amusement park in the mall. We’re going to try to make it back down there this weekend, and I am going to finally ride one of the roller coasters. Indoors. How cool is that? Dinner with Wendy was absolutely fabulous, even though I was still tired and punchy. I’m so glad we got to meet up.

Today was a rather low key day. We decided to just stay in Forest Lake, spending time catching up with relatives throughout the day. Tonight we all went out to eat and then over to my Aunt Marge & Uncle Ron’s house in Wyoming. (Just down the road from Forest Lake.) It was nice to have a chance to visit with my cousin, Jeanette, before they head back to Ohio tomorrow.

Now I am especially thankful that I switched to WP before I left … I am on a dial-up connection at my Aunt Marie’s house. I have had a cable modem since 2001; I forgot what a modem sounded like. I had to call Mike in to the room so he could hear it too. Ah, the memories.

The weather is great, the scenery is gorgeous and the company is simply fabulous. Don’t you wish you were here?

Sleep Would Be a Good Thing…

The Simon & Garfunkel concert last night was great. Fabulous, to be exact. It was definitely an interesting crowd – the place was packed and I think that all of Houston’s 45-70 crowd was there. When I went to see Radiohead last fall, I was all but strip searched. Last night? Yeah, a little different – they were just checking bags. Nothing more. Amusing contrast.

Once we finally got home, I had to finish laundry so that we could pack. No big deal, right? Ugh. I don’t know why, but I get in to some bizarre mode whenever I travel. It’s not that I overpack (normally), but that I become convinced that I left something behind, something that I absolutely must have. I’m going to Minneapolis. Within the United States. They have anything and everything for sale there that I might need. If I forget something that is really important, I can just buy another one. Not a problem for most people, but it is for me. And I know it. I realize I don’t need to worry about it. I even tried to reassure myself last night, but no luck. I was awake until 6:30 am, when I simply reached the point that I couldn’t function anymore.

Now that I am at the airport, it doesn’t stress me out so much. If I forgot something, I forgot it. Too late now. So why do I worry so much the night before every trip? Does everyone do this, or is it just me?

All I know is that I could really use some more sleep right now. 2 hours just wasn’t long enough.

This post brought to you by Houston Intercontinental Airport and the unsecured WiFi of the USO in Terminal C – my travel tip of the day…

It’s a Giddy Day!

Whoo hoo! I’m so glad it’s Wednesday! I’m so excited about everything! I can’t help but use too many exclamation points, it’s that good!

Jenn has been helping me with some Scripty goodies. Thanks to the ease of WP plugins, my site is almost identical to how it was before the migration now.
– Speaking of WP, did I mention that I love it? And did you notice how fast my site loads? Yeah, I’ve said it all before, but I still find it amazing.
– I’m going to see SIMON & GARFUNKEL TONIGHT!!! I’ve dreamed of seeing them perform live since I was a little girl, but it was always an impossible dream since they had split up already. Tonight, I will get to see them LIVE! Mike ROCKS for making it happen!
– Then I’m leaving for Minnesota and a family reunion. Not only will I get to visit with relatives that I haven’t seen for awhile, I’ll get to see Jason and my parents for the first time in a few weeks.
– Being the smart girl that I am, I made sure I had some extra time to visit other people too, so I’ll get to meet Wendy and Natalie (the Pickle)!

I’m just so happy! Wheeeeee!!! Now it’s time to boogie! Crunch crunch!
