Green Acres is the Place For Me…

I can’t decide if I should laugh or cry – this scale model of Hooterville, home of “Green Acres,” is hysterical! What would possess someone to build that? And once you get the “Green Acres” song stuck in your head, is there any way to get rid of it? [via J-Walk]

It Works!

Doing the happy dance this morning – I found some really cute capri pants on clearance a few months ago for about $7. They sort of fit, except I couldn’t zip them. For $7, they were too cute to pass up – so they became my “Goal #1” pants.

Guess what I wore to work today?

They will fit better in a few weeks, but they fit now. This totally makes up for the fact that I pushed myself to go to the gym last night in spite of a severe headache and tummy flutters. (I’ve felt quesy off and on all week, but last night was the worst.) I could not let myself slack off this early. No excuses!

Pass It On…

This guy on his Soapbox said that if I don’t pass this link on to at least five of my friends, my hair will fall out or something like that. Doesn’t matter, I’m passing it on, so nothing bad will happen to me. Nuh uh! No way! So click the link! [via Meryl]

Buildings and Weed…

I left Mike and Matt to their geek things and I wandered around downtown Houston with my cameras. Michael asked me when we met at the H-Town gathering why I use more digital than film – and days like today are why. I can shoot wildly, photographing anything and everything, and not waste money on film. However, there are some things that film can do that digital just can’t – so I had the Kiev 35A with me too.

As I was photographing some of the old buildings on Main Street, a man walked over to me. He said, “This is a great sight on Main Street that you shouldn’t miss! A musician, unloading his equipment for a gig in downtown. This sort of thing hasn’t happened in years, maybe even decades!” I laughed a slightly nervous laugh. He commented that he had seen me over on the other street taking pictures of the fountain. I smiled and nodded my head. “Yeah, that’s the great thing about digital. I can take all the pictures I want and not waste film.” He walked away, and I took another picture of a building, and then turned around and took one of him unloading an amp from his trunk.

He walked off, taking the amp into the venue for his gig tonight. As he came back to his car, he asked me if I would mind e-mailing him a copy of the photo. I said sure, and he pulled a card out of his wallet. We introduced ourselves. He said that he has a ton of other photos, but he thought it would be cool to have a copy of the one I took. I told him he could just visit my website, giving him the domain name. He said, “Ok, but I smoke a lot of weed, use the best weed grinders, so I don’t know if I’ll remember that. Remind me when you send me the e-mail.” That was a first. Plus, you would think that if someone smokes a lot of weed, a Big Pink Cookie would be easy to remember. Wouldn’t it? well anyways here is the best CBD oil for anxiety, which I really do recommend among any other thing I’ve tried before.
