1000 Down and Still Going Strong…

I just posted the 1000th photo to Picture Yourself. It has grown to a point that is amazing, and I am always surprised when new photos come in from around the globe. Thank you to everyone that has contributed in the past and who will do so in the future.

I also posted my first Lomoized image to Pixelog. The effect took a boring photo that was in my unused photo stack and make it perfect in it’s own special way.

Luscious Lomo Wannabe…

I got Photoshop installed and after beating my head against the wall and re-reading an e-mail from Jennifer three times I figured out how to load an action. From there, I Lomo-ized photos. Here are some before and after shots:

McDonald’s, Main Street, Downtown Houston – Before Lomo-izing, After Lomo-izing. (Pop-up for larger view.)

Butterfly, Cockrell Butterfly Center, Houston – Before Lomo-izing, After Lomo-izing. (Pop-up for larger view.)

I followed the written instructions on the McDonald photo. I used the “Lomo Normal” action on the butterfly photo. Being a total Photoshop rookie, using the action was much easier!

Time to Shoot…

I am planning on participating in The Mayday Project this Saturday. It should be interesting as we will be at a chess tournament for most of the day and from there we are going to a graduation party for Doug, who is getting his MBA. Thanks to Elisabethan, I just found America 24/7 which is from May 12 -18. I’m going to sign up and take on the assignment. Should be a good challenge and a nice change of pace.

By tonight, Picture Yourself will have the 1000 submission posted. It’s there and waiting for me, teasing me. Tonight. Have you shared photos of how you Picture Yourself lately?

This photo, however, is not me.

Fake Fake Lomo…

I love the effect created by the Fake Lomo actions. Just one problem – I have Paint Shop Pro 5 on my computer. Stop laughing. I’ve had it for years, and it works well for me. One problem – I can’t figure out how to duplicate these steps in PSP5. Anyone have ideas how to do it?

The Best Lock…

The image on the front page of Pixelog right now has to be one of the best macro shots I’ve taken to date with my G2. If you view the larger image, you can see rust flakes even – I love the detail. Now if only there was more time in the day to just wander and take photographs.

By the way – if you visit Pixelog and you like it, could you vote for me at Photoblogs.org? It’s fast and easy – there is a link on every page! (Also, Pixelog is a comment friendly zone. Feedback is always welcome!)
