Brave Bride Wanted…

While I hate the name of it, I seriously want to find someone that is willing to participate in a Trash the Dress photo shoot! Come on … you can’t tell me you’re really going to ever wear the dress again. Plus most of the things we would consider doing can easily be handled by a drycleaner when we’re done.

So? Anyone game? Road trip to Galveston to frolic in the sand? Anyone?

It is Jasmine Time!

I’m dealing with the itchy scratchy throat and the weird flush feeling again – it is time for the jasmine in the backyard to be in full bloom! Oh, how my allergies love it.

I wonder if I go and work upstairs if I could at least escape it somewhat. Hm. At least then I would be further away from the jasmine.

Speaking of the great outdoors, I just have to post one of my favorites from the engagement session I had last weekend at Eleanor Tinsley park. We went there to take Houston skyline engagement photos, which I also love, but something about this one just makes me so happy!

The Kiss.

The Accidental Photo Shoot!

Accidental Photo Shoot

Much better if you view it large.

Last Friday I made a quick trip down to Galveston to take shots for my friend Shelley’s storytelling website. While we were up on the rooftop of the Tremont, I spotted this cute couple on the other side. I had snapped a photo of them earlier as they sat by the railing, enjoying the great weather we were having.

As I was switching memory cards, I heard her … Crying? Squealing? Laughing? All of the above? I’m not really sure. It was enough to make me turn around though and start snapping more photos of them. I then walked closer to Shelley & told her that I thought he had just proposed.

We both got a bit teary. Yeah, I’m a sap like that. As soon as we had a chance, we called out to them and asked if he had just proposed. When she said yes, and that he had totally surprised her, we then told them that I had taken photos of them seconds after it happened.

It was a happy twist of fate.

We all exchanged business cards, he immediately asked about buying prints, and she asked if he had planned the fact that I was there too. (Not sure what else he had surprised her with!) I told her he had not – but I am still so thrilled that I was there!

A New Adventure…

Checking Out the New Ring

While Kimberly was looking at me and smiling for the camera, Stephen was checking out his brand new wedding band. We had such a great time at their wedding in February (in spite of the fact that I had no voice!) and we’re looking forward to getting together with them again soon.

After navigating all of the settings and the process for setting up events, I finally have my first event online at Pictage! Stephen & Kimberly’s wedding is not the first wedding I have photographed over the years, but it is the first that I have placed online for photo sales. It is an exciting move to help grow Fresh Photography’s wedding (and lifestyle photography) business. I’ll be using Pictage for all of my events in the future, which will offer my clients a whole number of wonderful things.

Pictage is a wonderful service. They will store all of my client sessions, and allow them to easily order prints in a whole variety of sizes. This event is open for view, but they will allow me to set an event password so that people can only view it with the login information. They not only print the photographs for me, but they will also package and send them directly to the client. They offer fabulous proof books that I will include in all of the wedding packages offered. Their album selection is fantastic. As an added perk for photographers, they offer a variety of events and training sessions – such a wealth of information. All around, I can not say enough good things about them!

A Long Day…

More Sunshine

What was not supposed to be a long day has turned out to be a long day. Feeling overwhelmed and stressed out, I ended up looking at photos on Flickr. I then realized that I have not shared any of the waterlily shots lately, and as my love for photographing flowers is well known, I realized it was time to revisit them.

I discovered last month that infant photography and flower photography are not far apart from one another. There is such beauty in the details. As I return to editing past shoots, I am looking forward to more newborn and infant that is wearing newborn baby hats photography sessions in the future. Have a baby? We need to talk.
