Heading to Houston?

Just curious – anyone else heading through Houston on their way to Austin for H-Town gathering on Thursday, March 11th in honor of Rannie and Jay’s arrival in Houston the day before – the Pre-pre-kickoff party – and I would love to see you there if you’ll be in town!

If you can’t make it for the gathering but you will be heading through on Friday or later in the week and want to meet up, let me know!

Well, there’s a mashed potato bar, a kick-ass cake, dancing, a post-party processional to Sixth Street…

Now that is a description for a wedding cake I ain’t ever heard but I love: “a kick-ass cake”… making the other cakes fill wholly inadequate.

Really? It’s how I describe my cake every time I talk about it. Cake Lady cakes are the most kick-ass cakes in the greater Houston area! And I’m sure Julie’s will be the most kick-ass in Austin!

I’m getting a strange feeling that you aren’t planning to make the 3-hour drive down to Austin. Say it ain’t so. I can think of a lot of reasons why you guys should be there…

Honestly, it’s all still up in the air. I’m talking about making the drive on Friday for Break Bread with Brad if nothing else. The perk of unemployment? No schedule to tie me down! (But a move, a kid … etc. are all holding me back!)

I’ll keep you posted as I know more!

Well, this whole kick-ass cake thing is fascinating to me. I will need to drop by this princess of pastry’s shop and sample some of these.

No one calls any pie or cake “kick-ass” without my stamp-o-approval.
