Thought for the Day…

Often the world will love you if you let it.

Written by John Halcyon Styn, aka CockyBastard. Styn had a great “spirit” or “aura” about him – when he was around you felt wrapped in it, enveloped in this positive great vibe. Plus he gives a damn good hug. What a neat person – one of the many that I was able to meet at SXSW. (Yes, more photos coming soon.) When I read that post, I just had to link to it. What a wonderful thought. How many times have you shut someone out, not given them a chance just out of fear? And if you had let go of that – maybe they would have loved you, just for who you are?

what a question! for me to answer that, i’m not sure i could post that anywhere because typing my thoughts would probably scare me a bit. ok a lot. but he sounds like such a great person 🙂

I’ve thought about that. we talked a bit at work yesterday about opening up, making that first step, finding out how someone else’s day was, letting others know you’re open to them. my question was —

what if you’re just too damned tired?

The song was great – but I felt like they were promoting some drug that would help you stay up all night, not beer! Who needs sleep? Just drink Coors and you can stay up all night and party! Not to knock Coors or anything, but they are forever branded as the Rocky Mountain, fresh water beer. That commercial would have been a better fit for Budweiser or Bud Light. I think it’s going to be quite a challenge for Coors to rebrand themselves on the market like that. When was the last time you were at a club and you saw someone order a Coors? And who knew it even came in a longneck? I thought it was strictly a can beer!

I’ve been having this conversation recently with a few friends of mine. It’s almost impossible to shut up and let someone care about you. Me? I’m too afraid of scaring people off.
