As I deleted my 3,692 moderated spam comments, I came across one message that caught my eye. Trackback spam for cartoon incest.

Cartoon incest? Just how does that work? And is there a big secret market for that that I never knew about before?

It sort of freaks me out to think of Fred and Pebbles getting it on.

Do you use WP? If so you should look into the Trencaspammer plug-in. It forces commenters to enter a numeric code before posting. Since I’ve installed it, I have seen ZERO comment spam.

I don’t have that installed in my copy of WP, but at this moment all of my spam is ending up moderated and I’ve got the Scripty hack in place that allows me to quickly delete all moderated spam. I will definitely keep that one in mind though if the spam gets out of hand!

Oh, and I thought of George and Judy too. That really freaked me out – so much that I couldn’t even post about it. Looking back, I think it was really obvious in the cartoons too. Ewww…
