I Should Have Warned Him…

Sorry Jay, I should have warned you. The Germans don’t eat at restaurants that serve German food. The town I lived in had 2 Italian restaurants, and no German ones. I took my parents to a restaurant in Ansbach, a much larger city, and we had to search for a restaurant that had some German food on the menu. I ate pizza there. Finally in Nurnberg we were able to find one with lots of wurst and struedel on the menu, and there were actually a few Germans eating there. Irony, huh? But I am so happy to see that you made it to Germany! (Although Frankfurt wasn’t the most exciting of cities. Very modern, and I like the old stuff!)

This Explains…

This article, Dear Diary…, explains a lot about the other side of me. [via Booboolina]

Something About This is Very Wrong…

I am Catholic. I am Christian. (No, this is not a post about how I want to convert you.) Considering my personal religious beliefs, can I just point out how bizarre these Inspirational Sport Statues are?

So, Jenn & I are on IM, and I send her the link. Then we start to discuss the hockey statue. (Yeah, like we don’t sound like the start of a joke … there was a Catholic mom & a Jewish mom on the Internet… looking at some Jesus statues…) There is just something twisted about Jesus, right in there with skates & a stick. Go Jesus! Jenn asked, “…so, what happens when a fight breaks out?” I just really wished they showed the ballet & the gymnastic ones – I mean, what could they look like? Like Jenn said, “If Jesus likes you, he’ll make it so you can win the game. If you lose, then he must not like you.” The track one looks like Jesus is just jumping in and keeping the other kid from passing the baton. And I almost fell out of the chair laughing about Jenn’s comments on the basketball one – it looks like he’s teasing the kids with the ball! “Nah, nah, I’m Jesus … you can’t have it. Ok, you can have the ball… PSYCHE!” And like the kid in the football one would really tackle Jesus!

What were these people thinking when they made these things? [via Love, the wife]

IM Saves the Day…

Jennifer has sent me e-mails, and I have responded … but she never wrote back about them. It was quite bizarre, but she’s been busy, and Rachel is puke-y sick, and they had the open house last weekend, and now she’s sick too … you know, the usual in a mom’s life, right? So I didn’t worry too much about it. Today she sent me an IM and asked me if I was just too busy to write or if I hated her. Me? Hate someone? Ok, let’s just get one thing clear. It would take a lot for me to hate anyone. No, really – a LOT. Like you would have to maliciously run me over with your car or stab me or something. And then if you were truly truly sorry & apologized 5 minutes later I would probably forgive you. Really. So if I have been ignoring your e-mails, the evil internet monster just might have eaten your e-mail to me or my response to you. But I promise, if it ever came to a point where I hate you, you would be well aware of the fact. I don’t hide it when I hate someone, it’s just super rare for me to feel like that. It’s all about the love, baby!

Chris V. is jamming to good tunes. I like working in the big room now that I am getting used to the noise factor. The zooming energy of a room full of designers and programmers is quite refreshing. And it’s so wonderful to just be able to ask them questions when I need to. Headphones come in handy when the noise gets to be too much. But for now I’ll enjoy the tunes!
