I’m so excited! I just found out that John Freyer of All My Life For Sale will be on the Screensavers tonight! Kudos to Mike for pointing it out to me! I met John at SXSW last year thanks to Barkingmoose Mike. I think he was one of the most interesting people I met while I was there, so I can’t wait to see him on the Tivo! I can’t wait to check out the book too; he was really excited about it when he talked about it last spring and I’ve added it to my list of things for Santa to bring me this year!

This Little Light of Mine…
I’m gonna let it shine … in my toilet! Yes, yes, someone out there has invented the Johnny-Light Toilet Bowl Night Light. “Lighting the way to family harmony.” But a great gift for Mother’s Day? Or a Birthday? That wouldn’t cause harmony in any house! And a great gift for clients? What sort of message do you want to send to your clients?!
You know what? Just put the seat down when you’re done. That’s all I need for bathroom harmony at my place. Heaven help the man that forgets to do that! No woman likes to sit on a cold toilet bowl by mistake!
Reasons for Love…
Today it is time for “Reasons for Love” again, and just because I want to, I will dedicate this edition to Kymberlie (who is currently hosting the meme while Bea takes a break.):
I love Kymberlie because:
:: She puts up with me when I’m in my “sunshine and light” mood, and she is having a crappy day.
:: She opens the blinds for me sometimes so I can have a much needed dose of sunlight.
:: She goes to eat lunch with me, often letting me pick where we go.
:: She makes me laugh with her quirky idiosyncrasies.
:: She pretends to throw boxes at me to amuse me.
:: She listens to me when I need to babble about things.
:: She went shopping with me today so that we could buy striped socks just like Bran’s. (I got the ones on the left in Bran’s photo. She got the ones in the center and on the right.)
:: She put her striped socks on so that we could take photos of them before she left work.
So while she can push me to the edge of my limit and get on my very last nerve at moments – she knows this, we talked about it today at lunch – I still love her dearly. She is my “work wife” after all, and if you spend 9+ hours a day, 5 days a week together, what do you expect? Bliss and happiness ALL the time? Ha! Get a grip. Life has it’s ups and downs, but after over 2 years of working together I wouldn’t trade her in for anyone else.
So there you have it – my reasons to love Kymberlie! *smooch!*
SXSWBlog 2003!
It’s that time of year – SXSWBlog is up and running for SXSW 2003! If you’re thinking about heading down to Austin in March for it, you should note that registration goes up after November 15th. [via Onfocus.com]
If you live here in Houston, we’re working on getting a group together and possibly getting group rates! Let me know if you’re interested and stay tuned to the H-Town Blogs site for more details!
Big Fat Thanks!
We all know that the music label execs are jerks, but the Rolling Stone ad in the NY Times is simply priceless. [via Knitwitology]
I have to agree with Rolling Stone – there have been many times that I’ve downloaded an mp3 to make sure it was the right artist (since the radio stations never tell you who it is) and then I download a few more off the same CD to make sure I like it. If it’s good, I’ll buy the CD. I purchased more CDs after discovering the fine world of mp3 swapping then I did before – because I discovered new music I wouldn’t have otherwise. Way to go, label execs!
