The first commercial moon mission has been approved. Among the reasons why they are going? “To verify Apollo and other landing sites.” Some people believe the Apollo program was a hoax. I mean, it’s not like our government has never lied to us, you know. The mission is expected to launch within the next 9 to 12 months, and I’m sure the images they bring back from the trip will be amazing!
Future plans for the TransOrbital? “The creation of a network of navigation beacons on the moon to help future lunar explorers and possibly ultra-secure data storage facilities.” Yes, I would think that the moon would be a pretty secure place to store data. Wouldn’t it be hard to retrieve it if you needed to do a backup though? [via Malibu List]
