All the News You Never Knew…
Earlier this week this blog was featured in the US Daily Report, which I have since found to be a great source of amusement. Do you know the news? If not, you can find it at the US Daily Report!
Still Dry…
Fortunately, the wrath of Fay was minor compared to the onslaught of Allison last year. We’ve had a lot of wind and rain, but nothing too bad. No flooding on this side of town, so moving the car wasn’t really necessary at all. Better safe then sorry though, right?
I’m still waiting for your suggestions as to what you would like for me to post about over in the Big Blogger game – where I am now becoming the nice girl next door that half of the fans want to kick in the shins for being boring! YOU can dictate what I post! Tell me what to do, what to say, what to post. Photo requests, whatever. You name it, I’m there! Leave your suggestions in the comments!
I’m A Survivor…
Shea posted a weak attempt on her blog to save herself last night. She didn’t bother to give anyone guidance on who to vote for instead of her, which means any votes she gained probably cancelled each other out.
Today she stooped to saying random rude things about me. No, she didn’t pick on anyone else, just me. Because I’m “very blah” in her book. Well, as a matter of fact Shea, Google considers me to be number 1 and 2 for “blah”, so I guess it’s appropriate that you feel that way.
The best response on the boards was from frogbuster666, “Even in the final hours Shea attacks the nice girl next door. Rusty begged us to vote her out. She threatens voo doo dolls. Shea is like a yeast infection that keeps itching that won’t go away. Vote now.” I couldn’t stop laughing!
But how she feels about me doesn’t matter – because WE HAVE THE POWER!!! Tonight’s poll results:
Rusty: 17 votes | Me: 27 votes | Shea: 73 votes
Hmmmm… and here they were knocking me on the message boards this morning too, thinking that today was my time to go! But they were wrong, and Shea is gone!
Now we are down to 5 players, and just a few more rounds of voting. I’ll be shamelessly begging for help – I won’t deny it. But I’ll make a deal with you! YOU can dictate what I post in the game blog! YOU can tell me what to do and what to talk about this weekend! And when I post over there, YOU will, of course, get credit! Come on! Tell me what to do, what to say, what to talk about. The only thing that will stop me is if it’s illegal! So leave your suggestions in the comments!
While proper thanks for everyone will come tomorrow, I want to take a moment to thank Ed for all of his guidance & support throughout this game. I also wanted to post what Ciscley posted on the message boards tonight here. It’s been a really long & stressful week, and I was moved to the point of tears by this…
Fay, Fay, Go Away…
Southeast Texas braces for Fay, hopes she’s not Allison’s sister
My Dad just called & asked if I wanted to bring my car over to their house and park it in the driveway there. Why would I want to do that? Because it’s raining 4″ an hour down in Galveston right now. Tropical Storm Fay is gathering up speed, churning things up just south of here. The rain right now is pretty light on the Northwest side of town (I’m about an hour and a half from Galveston) but I learned my lesson last summer.
Tropical Storm Allison was kind enough (ha!) to dump 23″ of rain in under 24 hours. My car was flooded. Not too bad – but it took over a month to have it repaired because everyone else was flooded too.
Fay is stationary right now. This is not a good thing. Storms feed off of the water – that’s where they get their speed and power from. This could become a hurricane before it’s all over. I just want it to hurry up and move on through!
