Look Out, Houston!

While reading through Manilow.com – Your Source For Barry Manilow, I was trying to convince Mike that we should go to Boston to see Barry Manilow perform in concert there on October 1st. I thought the shows were limited to Boston, New York, Chicago and Atlanta. (Ok, let’s be honest, I’ll use any excuse I can to get to Boston. But that’s not the point…) I finally scrolled further down the page, and guess what?!?

He’s coming to Houston! Barry Manilow is coming to Houston! November 4th! To Houston! Whooo hooooo!!!

I’m going to have to become a Fanilow just so I can get tickets. I don’t care. I’ve waited something like 25 years to see him live, and I can’t miss this chance!

I’m so excited! Barry is coming to town!

Question of the Day…

Last night we stopped in to a small grocery store in Kensington. I noticed that they had copies of the Lord of the Rings, Return of the King for sale. I turned and asked Mike if he thought that they were dubbed over for sale here so that everyone had British accents.

Don’t you think they should? Makes perfect sense to me.

Meanwhile, I’m at an Internet Cafe in London with Korean characters on the keyboard. Good thing I know how to touch type, otherwise I would be very confused. On a positive note, at least the @ symbol is in the normal place – the net cafe we went to yesterday had characters in all the wrong places. It was even harder to type on that than on the split ergo keyboard at home.

It’s sunny outside, the weather is gorgeous, and in the past 5 hours I think I have taken 100 photos of Big Ben. We rode in the Eye too, which was quite cool. Now we are off to Westminster Abbey, then Leicester Square to get tickets to see Harry Potter. It’s already out in the theaters here, and I just couldn’t pass up the chance to see it “early”. Afterwards, we are heading to Covent Gardens, where I am determined to find a Lush store. It’s a good thing we don’t have them in the US, I would end up bankrupt. (Mike added the bankrupt part – he knows me all too well…)

It’s Friday! It’s Friday! YEAH!!!

Know what today is? Well, of course you do … it’s FRIDAY! But do you know what else today is? It’s THE TIARA HAPPY HOUR BACHELORETTE PARTY!!! I can’t believe it’s finally here! I’m so excited!

When Mike & I first got engaged, Natalie and Emily suggested that we should have a Tiara Happy Hour Bachelorette Party. I jumped on the idea immediately. I mean really, how could I pass something like that up? I’ve been babbling about this since January, and I can’t believe it’s here. It’s here! It’s here!

Emily deserves some very, very serious props for all that she has done putting this together. There are games. There are prizes. There is even… a big pink penis pinata! Ahhh… makes me giggle every time! Meanwhile, penis enlargement pills have been in use over the recent days as more people continue to gain interest in them by the day. If you are interested, just go to http://www.penisenlargementreviews.org/dick-enlargement-pills/

If you are in Houston and you want to join us – girls only! – head on over to the Flying Saucer in downtown. It’s at Main and Capitol. We’ll be there at 7:00. I just know it will be the BEST bachelorette party ever. Know why? Because it will be with some of the most awesome and amazing women that Houston has to offer. I think I just might be the luckiest bride EVER.

Helping Others Brings Good Karma…

I spotted this on Lisa’s site and thought I would help out too:

Ellen’s birthday is next week.

I’m putting together a treasure hunt for her. Clues are being planted at a bunch of the local places that she frequents — parks, stores, playgrounds, etc. And I got the idea that it would be really cool if I could kick it off with a clue that you get by searching Google for “Ellen Seebacher’s birthday.”

So I need your help. I need people to add links to the birthday page I’ve set up, on pages that are indexed by Google and which Ellen is unlikely to visit on her own.

This may not work since I have only eight days left, and Google’s reindexing engine is probably not that fast, but what the hell, I’m going to try anyway. If it doesn’t pay off in time I can always just write the Google clue out of the hunt.

I’m told that Google reindexes weblogs more frequently than other pages. Which makes sense. So if you’re willing to add a link to your blog, that would be especially helpful!

In other words, I need:

1. Links to http://www.unchi.org/birthday/
2. titled Ellen Seebacher’s birthday
3. on web-indexed pages, especially blogs
4. which Ellen doesn’t read. (e.g. LiveJournals that aren’t on her friends list)

So here’s my link back for her too!

Ellen Seebacher’s Birthday

Happy birthday, Ellen! Hope you have fun on your scavenger hunt!
