Happy, Happy … Joy, Joy!

I had “skinned” my site while still using Greymatter. Then the time came when GM couldn’t handle my 500+ entries, and I moved over to MT. I could never quite figure out how to use some of the features that MT offers though along with the skins. Until minutes ago. All of the sudden – POP! Some of the techniques that Jennifer used when she helped to set up the Pixelog would work perfectly. Kristine had sent an e-mail explaining a similar process to me, but I just couldn’t get it. I couldn’t work through the steps and figure it out. Until now.

So to test it out, I opened up MT, made a new index template, named it mtcalendar.php and stuck in the code for the MT Calendar. Then I went into my Skin #1 (in case you are viewing this in a different skin and wondering what I am talking about) and added the PHP Include to retrieve mtcalendar.php – and there it is. Damn. 6 months that I have wanted to do that and just now I finally got it! The lightbulb is on!

Fixed for 6…

Just fixed the site for IE6.0. Content should not be centered either in the main column of content or on the sidebars. If it is, please let me know which page & which template. I won’t have access to IE6 to test it until Monday.

IE6 Buggy…

While Robyn ranted yesterday on the issue of pages suddenly being centered in IE6, Catherine talked about her pages being truncated when using a CSS layout. I just came across an article in A List Apart which addresses this issue. It’s not you – it’s IE6.0. By the way, I’m still using IE5.5 – so if my page has text that is centered in IE6, could you let me know? Everything should be left aligned. [via Meryl]

Skin Fix…

Thanks to Kymberlie pointing it out to me this morning, I have now fixed the BlahBlahBlog Skin Selector so that those of you that want to still use the Venice skin can! Note to self: Do not hand code HTML when sleepy. Just say no.

Also, I will have to work on making the design just a little more narrow so that you don’t have to scroll on an 800×600 monitor. If everyone would set their resolution to 1600×1200 we wouldn’t have this problem! *GRIN* (I can hear it right now, Kymberlie saying “HOW can you READ this!”)
