Oh, Fun…

My site was moved from one server to another a few days ago. However, no one noticed that some of my domains (including this one and the one I use for my MT installation) were still pointing at the old server for the past 2 days. My e-mail was going off in to limbo land, and my posts were going to the old server. Soooo… I just copied and pasted the posts to the new server so they would show up again. Sometime this weekend I am going to have to reconfigure my old copy of MT to allow me to log in through the IP address so I can log in and manually move comments one by one.

I know, it sounds like more fun than you have ever had and you’re extremely jealous of me.

I think I’m going to need a spork

Today’s Public Service Announcement…

If you are using MT with the default login information, please stop what you are doing RIGHT NOW and go change it. If your username to log in to MT is “Melody” and your password is the same as the one found in the MT installation instructions, do not do anything else before you change that password. Now. Go.

Show Me Where I’m Going…

As much as I love MT, I’m annoyed by one of the new features of it. I hate that it hides the URL’s of the people that leave comments. When I surf, I use the status bar a lot – so I’m always mousing over names in other people’s comments to see if I have been to a site before or if it’s something I haven’t seen. The latest and greatest MT foils that system of mine. Instead, I get a cryptic link that includes the site I am visiting followed by other information – I actually have to follow the link to see the site’s actual address.

Yeah, it sounds trivial – but it’s really slowing my blog surfing down and annoying the heck out of me!

Getting Scripty!

I wish I had the time to implement all of the things I want to do on this blog, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen any time soon. I did want to point out two noteworthy things over at Scriptygoddess though – how to keep yourself from turning in to a spammer through MT, found originally at Girlie Matters, and the NEW Subscribe to Comments Plugin. Two things I think everyone needs! Getting Scripty!
